OUR PARISH MISSION
Christ Church exists to show everyone God loves them unconditionally.
We do that by EXPERIENCING, EMBRACING, AND EXTENDING
God's love.

There are three ways to give to the mission of Christ Church:
you can mail in your pledge, give online, or text GIVE to (850) 403-6673.

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY CHAPEL
~ Sunday, January 31 ~
Thus far as we have explored stories from the New Testament, we have heard the story of Jesus' birth, his baptism and calling of his helpers. As we discussed how Jesus called his helpers beginning with Andrew and the other fishermen, the children were asked how they could be helpers for Jesus. Their answers were so insightful. We can love each other, we can be kind and we can pick up trash! We ended in our prayer circle committed to being helpers for Jesus. This coming week we will begin our lessons about Jesus’ ministry starting with the healing of Jairus’ daughter and the lady who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment. These Sundays together are joyful times as our children learn and grow in their faith. Parents: Plans are underway for a special Valentine’s Day so please mark your calendars and plan to sign up your children. Please sign children up here (max 15 children).

For those who are with us on Zoom, Britton Lynn and Rudy will be with you to tell this story — these sessions begin at 9:30 AM. The meeting ID is 3205228708. Britton will let you in through the waiting room.

ADULT CHRISTIAN FORMATION OFFERING
Jesus: Light of the World ~ Sundays, 9:00 AM
In their birth stories, Luke and Matthew hope to reveal God's presence in Jesus. Luke writes about angels, shepherds and prophets. Matthew writes about dreams, magi and close escapes from a king's wrath. Amy-Jill Levine offers fresh insights for these stories by Matthew in the fourth and final section of her book, Light of the World. Her thoughts will be the focus of the class discussion for Sundays, January 31 and February 7. Join the conversation with Dick Hooper and David Starling by ZOOM at 9:00 AM through the link available in the Saturday announcements. Please click here for more information.
SAM & MARCIA BONEY MEMORIAL MUSIC FUND
As a result of a generous donation from the Boney Family, we are grateful to announce the Sam and Marcia Boney Memorial Music Fund to support a number of different musical endeavors at Christ Church. Sam and Marcia were longtime supporters of the music ministries of Christ Church as well as supporters of music in the Pensacola community. While plans for the fund will be further developed by the rector, director of music ministries and chorister Cecil Carlton, donations and memorials in honor of Sam and Marcia may be made to Christ Church Parish designated for the Boney Memorial Music Fund.
ONLINE COMPLINE
Settle in where you are at this moment and make yourself quiet, light a candle if you like...and breathe. Compline can be done right where you are — it is typically done right before going to sleep. It can be done in your home, backyard, favorite outdoor space or church. You can be by yourself or with others. The Order of Compline we are using is found in the Book of Common Prayer on page 127. Deacon Rachel Iversen invites you to join her to find rest in this nightly service of Compline. The YouTube link can be found here.
EPISCOPAL YOUTH COMMUNITY NEWS
ALTAR FLOWER DEDICATIONS
Each week our worship service is enhanced with beautiful fresh flowers. The altar flowers are a memorial, a thanksgiving for an anniversary, a birthday, a new birth, or a thanksgiving for God's blessings. The donation is listed in the weekly bulletin. Forms to participate in this ministry are available here.
CARE IN COMMUNITY
Christ Church is here for you. There are many ministries to love and support the people who are the church. We continue to support one another, especially during this pandemic. If you are interested in assisting with staying connected to our church family, please email Rev. Katie or call her at the Parish Office, 850-432-5115. It is easy to feel alone or disconnected right now, so reach out to one of the priests or someone at the church to say hello. Contact Rev. Katie if you or anyone you know has any needs. If you have a pastoral emergency, please call our pastoral care emergency line to speak directly with one of the priests: (850) 462-5137.
