We are currently working on the locations for next years Board Meetings. If you would like to host a meeting in your town, please contact us by November 11th. The venue must have a private area with a door that closes, can accommodate 50 people and must be acoustically sound.
 
The website re-design process has begun so look for changes coming in 2020.

Metropolitan Mayors Caucus
On October 13th the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus was awarded $1.3 million by the Illinois Department of Human Services to serve as Regional Intermediary of state Census grants. The funding was administered to various community organizations and local governments to educate and encourage participation in the 2020 census. Here is a link to a pre-application:

CMAP Update

CMAP is hosting a public hearing for Metra's proposed 2019 Operating and Capital Program Budget and Financial Plan. The hearing will be held at the Kane County Government Center, Building A- 1st Floor Auditorium, 719 South Batavia Avenue, Geneva on November 5th
from 4-7pm.

supporter of the pension consolidation initiative.

Legislative Corner

I was in Springfield last week to follow the pension consolidation bill in real time. Unfortunately, all legislation came to a screeching halt due to some federal political activity. However, the pension language was released and you can find it here:

We are still in the process of evaluating the details and as of now the General Assembly plans to begin discussing it during the second week of Veto Session, November 12-14. Metro West continues to support the initiative but until we see an analysis, we will not take a position. I will keep you updated as the conversation progresses. I also had the opportunity to discuss some ideas for possible future legislation with our lobbyists and look forward to next regular session to begin that process.

Our November Baord meeting will be hosted by our new President Kathy Curtis, President of Maple Park. It will be held at Sorrento's Restaurant at 50W187 Route 64 in Maple Park. Email invitations were sent out Monday, November 4th.  We hope to see everyone on November 21 st .
