I love spending summer guiding Tauber students, who are working on some truly intriguing team projects. Earlier this month, I joined faculty advisors for mid-project reviews at Amazon, Dell, Microsoft, and Target. The students' energy is inspiring, and promises to produce some impressive results! We hope you can join us this summer at an alumni event to reconnect with the institute, and learn more about our ongoing work.

News for alumni & friends
June 2019
At midpoint, team projects are on target

Tauber faculty and staff have been traveling throughout June to meet with students and sponsors for mid-project reviews. As the unique aspects of each project challenge become increasingly well-defined, students dive deep into problem solving, increasingly aware of rapidly approaching deadlines. But there's still time for fun! In Minneapolis, Target team members (L to R) Rhea Kumar, Mercedes Alvarez, and David Ginsberg befriended the Target mascot, Bullseye!
"I naturally hate inefficiency and waste, but Tauber really helped me quantify and articulate waste in ways that I would not have been able to prior to Ross."

Tauber alum Lucius Clay (MBA '16) is now Sales Director at Trepp, LLC, a leading provider of data, analytics, and technology solutions to the global securities and investment management industries.

Tauber Solutions: Streamlining Partner Investment Operations through Intuitive Tooling

The Challenge:
The Tauber team (L to R) of Lucas Wilcox (MBA), Mary Grace Pellegrini (MBA & MS/Information), and Sameer Arora (MSE/IOE) was tasked with conducting a value-stream mapping analysis of funding mechanisms and processes across the Microsoft One Commercial Partner division to scope out disparate investment allocation approaches and identify best practices.
The Solution: The team proposed and piloted three areas for improvement to solve users' largest issues with the investment process: 1) developing a central landing page, 2) designing an improved process flow, and 3) integrating a monitoring system. The team predicted that Microsoft could shorten the average investment development and approval timeline by 31 days, producing a projected $30M in increased revenue at the fiscal year close.
