Campus Champions Elect New Leadership Team
Following the recent leadership team elections, the Campus Champions Program is excited to welcome one new member to their leadership team, Tom Cheatham from the University of Utah, and three re-elected members: Douglas Jennewein of Arizona State University, Julie Ma of the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center, and Timothy Middlekoop of the University of Missouri. They will serve a two-year term. Joining these newly-elected members for the second year of their two-year term on the leadership team will be Shelley Knuth, University of Colorado; Torey Battelle, Colorado School of Mines; and BJ Lougee of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas. The Campus Champions would like to extend their thanks to Hussein Al-Azzawi of the University of New Mexico for serving on the team.
XSEDE EMPOWER now accepting applications for fall internships and mentorships
XSEDE EMPOWER (Expert Mentoring Producing Opportunities for Work, Education, and Research) provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to work on a variety of XSEDE projects, such as computational and/or data analytics research and education in all fields of study, networking, system maintenance and support, visualization, and more. Mentors help engage undergrads in the work of XSEDE. The EMPOWER program aims to enable a diverse group of students to participate in the actual work of XSEDE. To apply to mentor one or more students, create one or more positions by following the link below. If you also have a student in mind to work with, that student should also submit an application. The deadline for mentors and students to apply for Fall 2020 participation is July 10, 2020.

Computing4Change application deadline extended
For undergraduate students who want to enhance their skillset and create positive change in their community, XSEDE is accepting applications for Computing4Change (C4C).   C4C is a competition for students from diverse disciplines and backgrounds who want to work collaboratively to learn to apply data analysis and computational thinking to a social challenge. Currently it is planned to be co-located at SC20 in Atlanta, GA from November 14–20, 2020 (but may become virtual.)  The deadline to apply has been extended until July 19, 2020

PEARC seeking nominations for 2022 Conference Chair and Steering Committee
The Practice and Experience in Advanced Research Computing (PEARC) Conference seeks nominations for individuals to serve in the role of PEARC Steering Committee Members-at-Large and PEARC 2022 Conference General Chair.  Nominations will be accepted from June 15 through July 12, 2020, at 11:59 pm Central Time. All members of the community are eligible to serve in these roles. Individuals can self-nominate or nominate another person as a potential Steering Committee member or conference chair. Nomination details and obligations may be found at the link below.

Register today for TACC's Computational Research Techniques: Scientific Visualization workshop
Ready to get more from your data than simple charts? Spend time with TACC's visualization experts learning how to generate rich, informative visualizations for your simulation results and data analyses. Get starting with VisIt and Paraview, learn the basics of developing interesting and worthwhile geographic and information visualizations, and try your hand at using some of the latest augmented- and virtual-reality tools for manipulating and exploring your visualizations. Course offered Tuesday, June 30, July 7, 14, and 21.

2020 NSF Cybersecurity Summit CFP
The 2020 NSF Cybersecurity Summit hosted by Trusted CI, the NSF Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, will take place September 22–24, 2020 and will be hosted online. 

Attendees include cybersecurity practitioners, technical leaders, and risk owners from within the NSF Large Facilities and CI Community, as well as key stakeholders and thought leaders from the broader scientific and information security communities.

The Summit seeks proposals for presentations, breakout, and training sessions. It offers opportunities for student scholarships. Those interested in presenting at the Summit should send submissions to  CFP@trustedci.org  by Monday June 29, 2020. The Summit organizers welcome proposals from all individuals and agencies.
