Great Lakes Youth Rally 2019
The Great Lakes Youth Rally is an event planned by teens for their peers (grades 7 to 12). Through activities, lessons, Bible classes, entertainment, meals, and devotionals, attendees have a chance to reflect on their faith and bond with others their age.
This year the theme of Youth Rally is “Life - It's Not Just A Game.” Luke 21:15-19 says “For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Everyone will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. Stand firm, and you will win life.”
Life is not a game to win or to lose, but eternal life is a gift we can accept or reject. So what does Jesus mean when he says, "win life?" Come and find out!
It's the Youth Rally committee's prayer that April 5-7 will be a fulfilling, meaningful, and, of course, fun time for all who attend! We hope to see you there! :)
SPEAKER: Paul Rasmussen
Paul and Brittany Rasmussen moved to Waterloo in 2010 and 2011, respectively, and were married in 2013. Their son James was born in 2016 and daughter Avery in 2018. Paul began in the campus ministry when he first moved to Waterloo, which, ultimately, became full time work in 2016. As of January 2019, Paul became the President of Great Lakes Bible College. Paul and Brittany are passionate about disciple- making and desire to see a renewed focus on church planting of churches of Christ in Canada.
WORSHIP LEADER
Matthew Burrows is an alumnus of Great Lakes Christian High School (class of 2013), where he used his gift of music in the Chorus and in the small vocal group, Relentless. He has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Youth and Family Minstry with a minor in Music at Rochester College. At RC he sang in the Chorus, which has a reputation for quality choral a cappella singing. Matt currently resides in Windsor and is working on his Masters of Religion degree.
THE DETAILS
The cost for the youth rally is $35. However, if you register by March 30, you only pay $30! If you are a dorm student at GLCHS, the cost for this weekend is $20 before March 30 and $25 after. To help us plan a great Youth Rally Weekend, please make sure you register!
