PAMELA HANSON CARBONE:
KWAOR 2020 REALTOR ®️ of the Year

Pamela Hanson Carbone of Domain Properties, long active in Rhode Island Real Estate and a well-known teacher for RIAR, was announced 2020 REALTOR® of the Year yesterday. A current KWAOR Director, Pam serves on our Executive Committee and Community Outreach Committee. She also co-chairs the REALTOR Relief Task Force, which has spearheaded the Association's COVID-19 support efforts for KWAOR members and our community, in collaboration with the KWAOR Foundation.
Due to the cancellation of our President's Charity and August Membership Meeting, we decided to announce the award to Pam and a small group of KWAOR and Domain Properties colleagues at a surprise lunch at
Tea In Sahara , Pam's favorite Providence restaurant. Pouring fresh mint tea in the photo, right, is restaurant owner Mohamed Sefiani who provided wonderful hospitality and delicious Moroccan delicacies in the cafe's lovely back garden.

KWAOR members will have the opportunity to congratulate Pam when she is formally honored at the Association's Annual Meeting and Installation on October 15th at Quidnessett Country Club.

CONGRATULATIONS PAM!

NAR News
NAR Provides Guidance on
How To Make Your Business
Implicitly Anti-Racist
Does Racial Bias Exist Among REALTORS ®️ ? Yes.
What NAR Is Doing To Help Change This?
NAR’s leadership team voted in January to create the  ACT initiative , which stands for accountability, culture change, and training, including:
  • Developing minimum core fair housing training requirements for all states
  • Working with state associations to create a state licensing law model to ensure real estate agents who violate fair housing laws are held accountable.

What can YOU do today? Consider watching NAR's Fair Housing Video and discussing it with colleagues. Produced in collaboration with the Perception Institute, the video provides valuable tools and strategies to help you and your colleague move forward while ensuring that your customers feel they are being fairly treated. It offers strategies to override bias in order to convey respect, ensure fairness, and improve business relationships. You can also check your own bias by taking and Implicit Bias Test.
