FIPPOA
F ire Island Pines Property Owners Association

What a celebration of Pride in New York this weekend! The excitement, enthusiasm and the pride of the millions of people participating and watching was very exhilarating. It made us proud to be New Yorkers.

FIMI
The staging area for the project at the east end of Davis Park is complete. All of the machinery, equipment and shore pipe for the whole project are now on Fire Island. It is expected that all of this will exit at the conclusion of the project from Ocean Bay Park.

The dredges are now in dry dock getting routine service. They will move at the end of July to Davis Park and immediately begin dredging. The dredges are expected to move to the Pines at the end of August. The entire project from Davis Park to Ocean Bay Park will require 100 days of dredging. We have received assurances from the contractor that they will make every effort to minimize the impact of the project on the communities. One part of that effort will be to move equipment only early in the mornings and otherwise limit noise so as not to interfere with the use of the beach.

DECKS
A deck collapsed at a party in the Pines on a recent Saturday. We have been asked to alert homeowners that they should check their decks if they are having large parties.

July 4 Invasion
The annual invasion of the Pines will take place tomorrow. The pre-invasion entertainment will begin in the harbor at 12:30. A nice show is planned, and I will speak. I am sure no one will want to miss THIS president's Fourth of July speech. The actual disembarkation of the invaders will begin shortly before 2 o'clock. The Sayville Ferry boat to the Pines at 2:15 and from the Pines at 2:45 are cancelled.

Happy Fourth!
