Rotary Leadership Institute: Are you interested in attending Leadership training in Vernon, BC? There is opportunity for 4 or 5 club members. For more information about the September session and registration go to Rotary Leadership Institute.

Shine On Scholarship Benefits University of Arizona Graduate Program's Sudan Archeological Dig
Pearce Paul Creasman is associate professor of dendrochronology and Egyptian archaeology, curator of the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research, and director of the Egyptian Expedition at the University of Arizona. He received a MA and PhD from the Nautical Archaeology Program at Texas A&M University. Professor Creasman is currently involved applying scientific methods to long-standing problems in Egyptology, such as ancient climate change and chronology. He leads active fieldwork in Egypt in Sudan. Professor Creasman provided some photos of the work by the University of Michigan team in Sudan, who were supported by the fellowship. The dig includes a new stairwell heading down to a major temple, and superstructure being built around the site to protect it. He reports, "The work would not have been possible otherwise. They relay their gratitude."
