Instant Decision Day
Interested in attending RVCC for the Fall Semester? Sign up for Instant Decision Day on July 18 in the RVCC Event/Conference Center. In one day you'll be able to take all the steps necessary to apply, learn about financial aid options, and schedule an appointment to register for classes. You can attend any time from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; however, you are encouraged to register in advance and leave plenty of time to complete the admissions process.

New Adult Fast Track Program
Learn more about RVCC's new Adult Fast Track program at a special Information Session, July 17, 7-8 p.m., in the Event/Conference Center (Room A) at RVCC's Branchburg campus.
RVCC's Adult Fast Track program offers working adults the opportunity to earn an associate degree in two years by taking classes in the evening and online. After completing the program, students will be able to seamlessly transfer to Ramapo College to pursue a bachelor's degree.

Information Sessions, Campus Tours
Learn about all RVCC has to offer by attending an Information Session in July at RVCC's Branchburg campus. The College is offering General Information Sessions and an Adult Information Session, as well as special sessions for those interested in its Automotive Technology, Cosmetology and Esthetics career programs.

RVCC is launching a new program to reward students who accelerate their path toward graduation by carrying a full-time load of classes. As part of a new Reward Program beginning this fall, students who earn at least 24 college credits at RVCC during the Fall, Winter and Spring Semesters can save $500 toward a summer course.

Professor Awarded Fulbright to Italy
Dr. Lauren H. Braun-Strumfels, RVCC Associate Professor of History, has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to Italy to research and teach U.S. History and American Studies. The award was announced by the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
Dr. Braun-Strumfels will research and lecture at the University of Roma Tre in Italy. Her work is part of a project, "Immigration Restriction in Transnational U.S. History," which focuses on U.S. immigration restriction and Italy's role in shaping U.S. policy. The RVCC professor will teach graduate seminars on U.S. foreign policy and immigration history in the University's Master of Arts program in International Studies.

2019 Academic Awards

Citizen Action Award
Congratulations to RVCC Environmental Science major James (Jamie) Lemieux, recipient of the Sustainable Raritan River Initiative's Citizen Action award. Jamie was honored last month at the 10th Annual Sustainable Raritan Conference and Awards Ceremony for his work revegetating stream corridors on campus and in Manville.
Jamie was recognized for his efforts that included preparing the grant proposal to get the funding for the campus project and working with NJ Water Supply Authority staff to order 350 trees and shrubs. He organized several planting sessions and supervised student volunteers. He also implemented Manville's riverside planting projects.

Robeson Youth Achievement Awards
Eighty-five middle and high school students from Somerset and Hunterdon counties were honored for their achievements at the 29th Annual Paul Robeson Youth Achievement Awards Reception, held recently at RVCC. The event is sponsored by the College's Paul Robeson Institute for Ethics, Leadership and Social Justice.

Moon Landing Anniversary
The RVCC Planetarium is bursting with excitement this month, with offerings that include a special Moon Day event in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, a Harry Potter laser show, and a program that celebrates humanity's great accomplishments in the space race.
