Dear High School Families:

I trust that your students are resting or working at a more sustainable pace this summer. We have hard-working, plugged in students! Included is information for Back-to-School Orientation on August 14. We look forward to welcoming back our school community and providing any necessary service. Also included is preliminary retreat information, as we will again travel to Alliance Redwoods for a week of bonding and spiritual focus. This year, Pastor Jason Smotherman and team will join us to challenge our students in their faith. Pastor Smotherman is also a VCS parent and board member. Please also note the Falcon coaches' contacts are included, and please do not hesitate to have your students reach out if interested in Fall athletics.

2019/20 Orientation

Orientation for grades 9-12 will take place on August 14:

Grade 9: 8:00-9:00am

Grade 10: 9:00-10:00am

Grade 11: 10:00-11:00am

Grade 12: 11:00-12:00pm

Orientation is open house style, in which students and parents will be able to follow their daily schedule, meet their teachers and receive important information for the school year. Students should be prepared to take a photograph which will be used for student IDs and yearbook. Students will receive a variety of important information including:

Welcome folder
Locker assignments
Necessary iPad apps
Textbooks
Retreat Information
Important school forms
School spirit shirt

Senior Parking

Friday 8/9 at 12:00 PM

Permits will be available for sale in the VCHS office.

Please be prepared to show required documents to office staff prior to entering the office. Parking spots are on a FIRST COME, first served basis

Parking permit form filled out and signed by parent
Driver license out and ready
Copy of Auto Insurance
Choose 3 possible options from the available Senior parking map
$5 (exact money is best). Bills larger than $20 will not be accepted.
If you are turning in a form for a friend, make sure the office staff is aware beforehand.

Rummage Sale to support VCS Basketball

The VCS basketball program will be having a rummage/bake sale on Saturday, June 29th from 8:00-2:00 in the VCS HS parking lot. Items can be dropped at the HS on the 28th or arrangements can be made to pick up items prior to the sale.

A little about retreat

It is our pleasure to announce this year's High School Retreat will again be held at Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds from Tuesday, September 10th-Friday, the 13th (with the advanced group attending from the 9 th -13 th ).

Student Council is planning fun and exciting team-building games and challenges each day to solidify class spirit, while our phenomenal Chapel Leadership student leaders are working to make sure worship time is profoundly fulfilling for every student.

There is no outside cost for retreat , unless your student would like to take part in the Paintball activity there at Alliance.
