Kendall Costain, MS, CGSA president wishes 40-year member Greg Aljoe all the best when he retires after this season. Greg was recently presented with a plaque celebrating 40 years and retirement by Jim Flett, AGS, CGSA Past President. 
And the CGSA Provincial Challenge Cup winner is Saskatchewan. Team Saskatchewan takes home bragging rights from the recent Fall Field Day held at Priddis Greens in September.

To reduce human impact on Canoe Creek, which runs through Salmon Arm Golf Club, the facility has launched a program to replace golf balls lost in the creek. Golfers can claim a free replacement ball stamped with “Saving our salmon,” which comes with a card that offers information on the club’s stewardship projects and how golfers can help. Allied Turf Research

Annual research call for proposals submission deadline is October 15. This year’s allied turfgrass research funding application process, formerly known as ‘CATR’ or Canadian Allied Turf Research, is being administered by the Canadian Turfgrass Research Foundation. 



Women in Golf- Education and Golf Day by Bayer Canada ES

Bayer hosted its third in a series of Women in Golf events.  The Women in Golf program was founded by Bayer to provide an opportunity for women in the turf industry to network, learn and share their experiences.  Each event is comprised of an educational component and provides an opportunity for networking.  Quite fittingly, this education and golf event was held at the iconic Ladies Club that was established by Ada Mackenzie in 1924 as a club for Women only!
