Together, we are implementing important practices and disseminating them across NYS.
Here's a small sample of what we've accomplished in 2019:
- ACT Institute
- redesigned the required ACT training to include transition care practices and role-based curricula (Team Leader, Nurse, Psychiatrist/Nurse Practitioner, Peer, Family, Substance Use, and Vocational Specialists) while enhancing Team Leaders' competencies in supervisory skills for these roles and associated evidenced-based practices
- Cognitive Health
- redesigned the cognitive health group discussion manual for state operated outpatient clinics and provided cognitive remediation services to 248 individuals at these clinics
- implemented a cognitive health module for first episode psychosis at all OnTrackNY sites
- Focus on Integrated Treatment (FIT)
- provided both in-person and online training to increase the knowledge and skills staff need to treat people who have co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions, including tobacco use
- Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Training
- created/hosted required HCBS online training for 243 HCBS designated agencies and provided quarterly reports to state agencies
- Improving Providers Assessment and Care Delivery and Treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (IMPACT-OCD)
- conducted webinar to address common misconceptions of OCD and conducted training needs assessment of 240 clinicians statewide
- developed OCD toolkit for providers, consumers and families
- now creating online training curriculum in diagnosis, treatment of OCD and special topic focused on OCD and Schizophrenia Spectrum disorders
- Supported Employment - Individual Placement and Support (IPS)
- worked with over 85 PROS and state facility clinic sites to achieve monthly employment rates that met, and often exceeded, national benchmarks (typically 45 - 50+ percent)
- Online Training Module Development
- received industry awards for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Shared Decision-Making modules
- created the first in a series of online psychopharmacology training modules for prescribing clinicians - Treatment Resistant and Late Life Depression: An Update for Prescribing Clinicians, with more to follow
- now offers over 130 modules in our learning management system
- OnTrackNY
- now working with 23 teams across NYS
- participant enrollment in school and work increases from 42% at enrollment to 70% by 6 months after enrollment, remaining stable thereafter
- hospitalization rates drop from 73% in the 3 months prior to enrollment to 10-11% per quarter following enrollment
- Suicide Prevention - Training, Implementation, Evaluation (SP-TIE) initiative
- completed implementation of Zero Suicide strategies in over 145 outpatient clinics throughout the State in collaboration with the PSYCKES team
- Uniform Clinical Network Provider Training (adult)
- worked with 11 managed care organizations and state partners to provide training to clinicians in 849 OMH and OASAS programs
