The Last Word
The A'19 Conference on Architecture, held last month in Las Vegas, was another fantastic event where AIA Kentucky was well-represented by our board of directors, as well as local chapter officers and members. We attended excellent programs and tours and enjoyed opportunities for fellowship during receptions hosted by the OVR and the UK College of Design. In addition, delegates at the conference elected Peter Exley, FAIA, of Chicago as the 2020 President-Elect/2021 President of AIA. We look forward to seeing what directions Peter will guide the Institute toward as he steps into leadership these next couple of years.
Speaking of conferences, be sure to block off your calendar so you can attend the AIA OVR Convention in Cincinnati on September 19-21. A wide array of dynamic programs has been compiled, not to mention awards presentations, a great trade show and valuable networking opportunities - all during the fun of the city's Oktoberfest!
Please save that date and, for now, I wish all of you a very Happy 4th of July. Be safe and stay cool!
Cheers,
|
