President's Message
Sarah Elliott headshot

Greetings, Fellow Fundraising Executives,

As we all know, AFP is all about ensuring the highest standards of ethics in fundraising. We all understand this and practice it, but there is one more step that I encourage each of you to take - CFRE certification.

Easier said than done, right? There is never a perfect time to earn your certificate, as I can attest. Just last month, amidst a busy fundraising year and a Board Presidency, I decided to take the leap. It wasn't easy, but I am very proud to have earned my CFRE!

Did you know that there are less than 500 CFRE professionals in the Great State of Texas? It's time to change this! I encourage each of you to visit www.cfre.org and begin the process of certification. Our Dallas AFP Chapter offers programming with CFRE credits each month, helpful for professionals ready to take the exam, as well as those in need credits for re-certification.

Speaking of programming, our next AFP luncheon program will take place on October 24th at Arlington Hall where we will discuss Positioning for a Strong End-of-Year Giving Season. We will also vote on our slate of proposed officers and board members for 2019, so you won't want to miss it.

Finally, as part of our commitment to diversity and feedback from the chapter, please be on the lookout for an AFP Dallas Chapter Survey. We want to hear from you as we gauge interest in different Dallas area program locations and alternative times for our monthly networking and program gatherings.

I hope to see each of you at our next program luncheon on October 24th. Also, please join me in congratulating my fellow board member and our chapter treasurer Stephanie Brigger, who also recently earned her CFRE! Great job, Stephanie, we are all proud of you!

My Best,

Sarah Elliott, President
