 Hello Friends!
We hope this note finds you enjoying everything that makes the fall season so special. We're loving the cooler mornings and evenings, and the sight of the hummingbirds bulking up for migration at our feeders! (It is definitely a good idea to keep those feeders out and full of fresh nectar.) We're still seeing fall migrants moving through our area, as well as the early arrival of some birds that will winter in our yards and region. The overlap of these two groups makes this a magnificent time to keep your binoculars handy!
Meet and Greet with Birds of Prey from the Cape Fear Raptor Center!

This  month, our friends from the   Cape Fear Raptor Center
will be stopping by both Wild Bird and Garden  locations with their incredible Raptor Ambassadors. Come get a glimpse of these powerful birds  up close, and feel free to ask any questions about the raptors  or the great work that the Center does for them in our region. You'll be in awe of both the birds *and* the people behind the organization that is devoted to their well-being!

Cape Fear Winter Birding

Now that the weather is cooling, a nice variety of shorebirds and ducks are arriving to spend the winter in our region. Join us as we explore some of our (and  their ) favorite local coastal hotspots to see them in action!

Toys For Tots

We are very proud to be a  Toys For Tots  drop-off location again this year! Bring in a new, unwrapped  toy  to either of our stores, and we'll give you a 10% discount on any one regular-price item (excludes optics). We can all help to bring some joy to local children in need. Thank you!! 
Monthly Bird Walks: November

Airlie Bird Walk 
Wednesday, November 13 | 8:00 - 9:30 am
Meet in Airlie Gardens Main Parking Lot
Join us for a free guided bird walk through the varied and beautiful habitats at  Airlie Gardens. We'll expect to see a nice variety of our year-round resident birds, perhaps a few late fall migrants, and our arriving winter ducks. Regular Airlie admission applies, or you can pick up a $2 discount voucher for the walk at Wild Bird & Garden.

Southport Bird Walk
Wednesday, November 20 | 8:30 - 9:30
Meet at Wild Bird & Garden Southport, 105 E Brown Street
Join Wild Bird & Garden staff for a birding stroll around Southport's historic downtown and waterfront areas. This walk is free and open to all!
