We Surpassed Our Goal - 7th Consecutive Year!

Thank you, 412 OLLI members, for your generosity and support of the lifelong learning program we love so much.

For the seventh consecutive year, we've surpassed our fundraising goal.  In 2018-2019, we aimed to raise $55,000, and you donated an incredible $84,400!  Thank you so much!

We raise funds because we are investing in the program that brings us intellectual stimulation, appreciation for our area businesses and organizations, laughter, and wonderful social opportunities all year long.

The funds we raise are used for services we otherwise could not afford through membership and program fees.    Gifts of any size support the program that brings you such a great experience.

Save the Date for OLLI's Fall Registration Social

We just put the final touches on OLLI's Fall 2019 brochure, and we think you're going to be AMAZED at the quality and quantity of events!

We offer a registration social as the first option for registration because one of the most critical aspects of our program is to maintain a sense of community as our membership grows.

Our Fall Registration Social will be held from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24 in the Michel Student Center Ballrooms at Bradley University.

Parking is free and open on campus for this event.

Doors to the Michel Student Center open at 7:30 a.m.  Doors to the Ballrooms will open at 8:00 a.m. for number distribution.  From 8:00 - 8:45 a.m., volunteers and staff will check your forms, answer questions, and discuss programming while you enjoy refreshments and meet new friends.  Starting at 8:45 a.m., numbers will be called in order for processing.

Please note:  each participant may bring no more than two registration forms to be processed at the social.

Online and telephone registration begins Thursday, July 25 at 9:00 a.m.  You may also mail in forms at any time after you receive or download the brochure.  Paper copies of the brochure will be delivered to post offices on Monday, July 15, the same day we post it on our website.

If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].  We look forward to seeing you on July 24!

Meet Bob Drake, OLLI Treasurer

Bob's involvement with OLLI began with Winter classes a decade ago.

"It was hard to believe the variety of classes that were available, and all without the pressure of grades," he says.  "The seemingly endless diversity of subject matter over these past 10 years continues to amaze me."

Friedan Bench, Signage to be Installed July 9

A memorial bench and signage honoring international feminist leader Betty Friedan will soon be erected in Upper Bradley Park across the street from her childhood home.

A dedication ceremony led by members of the Betty Friedan Hometown Tribute Committee, which raised the construction funds, will be held on July 9 at 1:00 p.m.

Friedan, who grew up at 1011 W. Farmington Road, authored The Feminine Mystique, considered by historians to be among the 100 most important books ever written.  The book, published in 1963, launched a feminist movement that led her to co-found the National Organization for Women, the National Women's Political Caucus, and the National Abortion Rights Action League.
