Principal's Message
October 5,  2018
Dear Families and Friends of OLQP:
October is a month that is filled with beautiful feast days and causes for celebration. It is an invitation to contemplation and prayer. We get to know those who have gone before us better: St. Therese, St Francis, St. Ignatius, St. Margaret Mary Alocoque, St. Teresa of Jesus. We are reminded of God Our Father's Heavenly care for us on the feast of the Guardian Angels. Each day at prayer, Jr. High students share a scripture reading or biographical information tied to the feast day being celebrated. Their instruction highlights the lessons we can learn from a particular scripture or saint.
October is the also the Month of the Rosary.  We celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary as well as the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. Students and staff at OLQP are praying the Rosary in a special way during the month of October to honor the Mother of God by answering her call to pray for peace. Each week, students participate in the recitation of one Rosary. Each week, classes will add a link to a prayer chain to represent all the Rosaries prayed in community.
Your family can play a part as well. We invite and encourage you to pray the Family Rosary during the month of October. It is a beautiful, Catholic tradition. Set a specific time aside and come together. Your child can bring a note from you to his/her teacher in order to add your family Rosaries to their class Rosary Chain.
At the end of October, we will share the "fruits of our labor" with Most Holy Trinity Parish in the hope of helping them reach the goal of 7,000 Rosaries as we all pray together for healing and peace in our own homes, families, Church, community, and the world.  Thank you for being part of the mission and ministry of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
