Team Updates
Welcome to Katie Watson, who recently joined our team as our first full-time administrative assistant! She brings a wealth of experience, and we’re fortunate to have her on board. Katie is supporting both Health by Design and the Indiana Public Health Association. You can reach her at kwatson@hbdin.org or 317-622-4822.
The event will feature a national expert, Lili Farhang of Human Impact Partners, and share case studies of health equity efforts here in Indiana and beyond.
Registration is $75.00 through Friday, August 9; after that it is $100.00. Scholarships and sponsorship opportunities are available.
The Indiana State Department of Health’s Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity (DNPA) has released the Active Living Guidebook developed in follow-up to the 46 Active Living Workshops we conducted together and in partnership with Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program.
The guidebook provides a summary of the active living workshop process, best-practice recommendations, and examples of success stories and lessons learned. It is intended to help community leaders and advocates create more active communities throughout the state.
America Walks has redefined the National Walking Summit to focus on localized geographic-based convenings that will feature the unique characteristic of each place and will highlight the home-grown solutions and adaptations that are at work in communities. They’re kicking things off in Columbus, OH on September 24.
CenterLines, the biweekly e-newsletter of the National Center for Bicycling & Walking, describes itself as (and is!) the web's most complete calendar of walking, biking, and placemaking events, trainings, and webinars. Read archives and subscribe online here.
