Press Release from IASWCD

For Immediate Release: September 7, 2018

New Program Director Named for CCSI

Indianapolis, IN (September 7, 2018)The Indiana Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative (CCSI) is expanding their robust soil health team and has hired Trisha McClain as their newest Program Manager, covering the northern part of the state.

"Ashley Brucker has been serving the whole state of Indiana since 2016. By adding a second Program Manager, we can effectively split the state in two - allowing Ashley and Trisha to assist more partners with outreach and education programs," CCSI Director Lisa Holscher said.

Brucker has elected to serve the southern half of Indiana. Brucker's new home office will be located at the Greensburg USDA Service Center in Decatur County. Trisha McClain will cover both the Northeast and Northwest Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) territories. McClain will be spending the majority of her time on the road but will be based out of the Tipton County Soil and Water Conservation District Office.

McClain comes to CCSI with considerable experience including providing advisory services to local stakeholders to address environmental concerns and effectively managing large projects such as IDEM's 319 Implementation Grants and IDEM 205 Watershed Management Development Grants.

"I have a strong understanding of soil health principles and experience with working with a diverse range of people. I am excited to help further implement CCSI's goals and objectives," McClain stated. She has already hit the ground running by assisting the Fulton and Pulaski SWCDs organize a grazing field day that will be held on September 27.
