Indian River Medical Center to Join Cleveland Clinic Health System 
Governing Board of Indian River Medical Center and Hospital District Vote in Favor of Agreements with Cleveland Clinic

Cleveland, OH, Vero Beach, Fla. (October 3, 2018) - The intensive 18-month effort to secure I ndian River Medical Center's future neared its conclusion today as the IRMC Board of Directors and the Indian River County Hospital District Trustees voted to approve a series of agreements that will result in IRMC joining the Cleveland Clinic health system. Under the terms of the transaction, Cleveland Clinic is committing to invest at least $250 million in IRMC over the next 10 years.

"This is an extraordinary day in the history of our community," said IRMC Board Chair Dr. Wayne Hockmeyer. "People across the country and across the world know that Cleveland Clinic stands for world class healthcare, and they will be partnering with the exceptional staff, physicians and nurses at IRMC to provide that level of care right here in Vero Beach for years to come."

UHealth Appoints VP of Supply Chain Services
The University of Miami Health System is pleased to announce Keith J. Murphy as its new Vice President of Supply Chain Services. In this newly created role, Mr. Murphy will support the goals of the University of Miami and UHealth by providing oversight of the supply chain of the health system, including the hospital-based and ambulatory facilities, and the UM Medical Group. Murphy joined the UHealth team on October 1.

With more than 30 years of experience in contract, inventory, and logistics management related positions, Mr. Murphy brings a wealth of experience to this position. He comes to the University of Miami from Yale New Haven Health System, where he was Executive Director of Corporate Supply Chain. In that position, he had responsibility for a non-labor spend of $1.2 billion in the acute and non-acute areas, and co-created and implemented strategic solutions that focused on the triple aim to reduce costs while improving quality and outcomes through the standardization/utilization of products and services.

Jonathan E. Watkins, MPA, FACHE is an accomplished healthcare professional who began his leadership career in Memphis, TN with the Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare System. There he quickly earned the respect and support of peers, physicians, and the system's senior executives, and in 2013 was named Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Methodist North Hospital. In 2016 he joined Kaiser Permanente as the Chief Operating Officer of Northern California's Central Valley Service Area. There he directed and coordinated the day-to-day operations of the area's hospitals before moving back to the southeast where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Broward Health Imperial Point in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
