Poly Welcomes Newest Alumni
The One Hundred Thirty-Third Commencement of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute brought us our newest alumni, and their impressive accomplishments embody the Poly tradition of excellence. The 367 Graduates had a 99% graduation rate, with 1,302 acceptances to 224 colleges & universities in 35 states and Canada. These determined young scholars garnered $31,000,000 in scholarships (and counting!) 70% of the class took at least 1 AP class, and their spirit of service was evident with 52,372 Service Learning hours.

We welcome these new leaders to the Alumni Association and know they will forge great paths! Donations to the BPI Foundation help fund programs and support the success of Poly's hard working students. Please consider giving a gift today, to secure the path of excellence for future scholars.
Make a Gift Before the End of the Fiscal Year!
Poly is fortunate to have a Foundation which is able to offer the extra funding necessary to provide the high quality STEM education our scholars deserve, as well as the tools our faculty need to be successful. Did you know that the Foundation supports projects such as: Scholarships, Robotics, Technology, Fine Arts, Aquaponics, Ingenuity Project, Brick Walk, Mentoring, the Virtual Reality Lab, Career Day, CollegeBound, Maryland Science Olympiad
Athletics, Memorial Garden, and the Veterans Walk, just to name a few. Supporting the Poly community in such a vital way is only possible through the generosity of alumni and friends.

The fiscal year ends on June 30, 2019 and every gift, no matter the amount, makes a difference in the lives of our students. Can we count on your support today? Please consider making a gift to support Poly's deserving students!
Colonel Gina Humble Honored
Each year, the Air Force JROTC Headquarters selects roughly 10% of the instructors from the 900 AFJROTC units throughout the world to receive the Outstanding Instructor Award. This award honors exemplary contributions and impacts on cadets, school, and community. Both of Poly's instructors, Senior Master Sergeant Randal Letschin '72 and Colonel Gina Humble received this award for 2019.

From there, one instructor is selected as the international Senior Instructor of the Year, and the 2019 selection is Poly's own Colonel Gina Humble! On behalf of the entire Poly Family we say congratulations and thank you for your outstanding contribution to the program.
Tennis Teams Win City Championships
Congratulations and kudos to Poly's Boys' and Girls' Tennis Teams! For the second consecutive year, the girls' team won the Baltimore City Team Tennis Championship by going undefeated in the regular season. For the 8th year in a row the boys' team won the Baltimore City Team Championship. They were also undefeated in team competition and twice defeated their archrival, City College H.S.

In the 3A South Regional Tournament our mixed doubles team finished second, and for the first time in a decade, a Poly team made it to Maryland State Tournament in Mixed Doubles! Ingenuity Program Math & Science Symposium
Ingenuity class of 2020 hosted it's annual Math & Science Symposium on Wednesday, May 22nd at Poly. Hundreds of parents, students, and research mentors joined the event to explore the research discoveries students have made as part of Ingenuity's 3 year research curriculum. Over 60 students presented their research in poster sessions lining Memorial Hall, and seniors gave impressive presentations on their final discoveries. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Jim West, professor in the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. West is also an inductee in the National Inventors Hall of Fame.

Pictured at right, alumni from the class of 2018 returned to see the work of the next generation. Students in this picture are returning from their first year at Johns Hopkins University, Cornell, and College Park.
