Bennett Crossing Providing New Development Opportunity Along the I-70 Corridor

A 292-acre tract at the northeast corner of  I-70 and State Highway 79 , in the Town of Bennett, Colorado is prime for development following completion of entitlements by Gayeski Capital Equities, LLC. Bennett Crossing has nearly a half-mile of frontage on I-70 and one-mile frontage on SH 79 with PD zoning in place to provide the framework for mixed-use development. The zoning plan was re-evaluated to attract highway and business commercial uses to along I-70 and SH 79, as well as light industrial with trails and open space, with a natural transition to mixed-use and residential development to the north as you proceed towards the K-12 Campus at Bennett School District.

The first to commence construction was LGI Homes, Inc. with the acquisition of 56 acres for a 275-home community. One of the fastest growing regional home builders in the country, currently active in 19 states, offers a new home community with a focus on commitment to service, quality and value. This new home community will offer the best of both worlds: affordable home ownership, and the vibrancy, attractions and amenities of Greater Denver.

According to the Deputy Town Administrator, Rachel Summers, the Bennett Crossing development creates a positive influence on a thriving and growing community. "We are thrilled to work with professional and seasoned land developers, such as the team with Bennett Crossing, as we infuse new development in Bennett. It is important to our board and community to have developers that pride themselves on attracting uses that believe in quality building and uphold our desired mission to proactively manage community needs to develop the Town of Bennett into one of the premier rural town centers of Colorado, providing optimum levels of service to our citizens."

Arts and Culture Community Survey

In 2018, the Town of Bennett founded the Bennett Arts Council in order to provide an avenue for arts and cultural development in both Bennett and the surrounding unincorporated areas. The Council consists of Town staff as well as numerous community partners including local artists and artisans, special districts, and non-profits. The established mission statement for the Bennett Arts Council is to promote, connect, and empower arts and culture for all ages throughout the Town and I-70 Corridor. The Council values sustainability, collaboration, innovation, and the transformative power of the arts.

In order to fulfill the above mission statement, the Bennett Arts Council was tasked with creating an arts and cultural master plan for Bennett. This master plan will establish long-term goals for the development of arts and culture in the area.

Hoping to create a document that is fully representative of the community's needs and desires for arts and culture, the Bennett Arts Council is asking for your input and feedback.

Please consider taking this five minute survey to add your voice and provide the Bennett Arts Council with the information necessary to best serve your needs.

If you have any questions about the survey please contact Taeler Houlberg at [email protected] .
