United Way of Southeast Missouri | June 2019 Newsletter
32nd Annual Golf Tournament brings
2018-19 Campaign to an Exciting Close!
Our 32nd Annual Golf Tournament this year was originally supposed to be on June 7th. With storms and flooding we were unable to make that date work. When we rescheduled, we prayed for beautiful weather. But about a week out from the 21st we realized we might get in trouble with Mother Nature again.

However, we are very happy to announce that nearly every team and golfer got in a full 18 holes before the storm swept in and everyone 'scrambled' for the clubhouse! Our only casualty was a tent canopy that was gone with wind, last seen heading to New Orleans via the Mighty Mississippi.

All things considered we hope our golfers had a wonderful time, and we are extremely grateful for our sponsors who made it possible. Below are our winners. We're using this last newsletter of our 2018 campaign to thank everyone who has generously supported United Way and our community through our 2018-19 campaign. Please be sure to scroll to the end and thank these businesses for their generosity.

Congratulations to our winners!

Grant Application Update
Along with ending our 2018 campaign, we are ending our 3-year funding cycle to our current list of 24 partners representing 34 programs helping people throughout 4 counties in Southeast Missouri. Outcomes from these partners are not due until the end of July, and we look forward to sharing data and stories of how your donations are changing lives.

Of more than 50 grant requests we received, our Community Investment Committee recommended funding for 38 programs represented by 28 organizations for the next 3 years. Yes, that means we have some returning partners and some new programs we can't wait to tell you about! But first, our Board of Directors must approve the budget.

Look for next month's newsletter with new partner information and details about our August Campaign Kickoff where you can meet the whole United Way network!

United Way Campaign?
With the exciting announcement of our new three-year cycle of Funded Partners, United Way is hosting a Lunch & Learn for Employee Campaign Champions (ECCs), Funded Partners, and businesses interested in building a stronger relationship with their community.

Maybe you know a business owner or someone in HR that is looking for a way to get their employees more involved within the community. This is a perfect place to start! Not only do we have events that offer prime networking but we also will provide your employees with volunteer opportunities and team-building fundraising ideas!
