Update From Chicago

Lead Therapist Laura Straka reports that Roscoe Village families have been learning ocean vocabulary in the toddler aural rehabilitation group. Children have enjoyed making turtles, whales, and fish crafts, playing with moon sand in the sensory table, and pretending to be at the beach.

"Our parents have been learning about using the "wait time" strategy to encourage their child to use more spontaneous language," she says. Laura also notes that Child's Voice has welcomed one new family to our Tuesday group. We are happy to have you! (And thanks to Sam Bousum for being in the neighborhood and taking the photo!)
