AgTivity Video - Wad a Watershed
Engage students with an activity! Watch our newest AgTivity video to enhance learning in your classroom. Learn how to lead the activity Wad a Watershed with students. In this activity students learn how water flows and how people impact the quality of water.
Keep Showing Us Gus!
Remember to take a picture of Gus with your students completing projects that relate to learning about agriculture!

It’s simple! All you have to do is cut out Gus, take a picture with him in your classroom, and submit it online here

We’ll draw two teachers that submit their picture to win a Book Bundle which includes twelve books and curriculum.

New Resource!
Camps & Clubs Kits
Equip your camp or club with hands-on activities that encourage active learning for youth! Each kit is complete with eight lessons and PowerPoints for extended learning. 
Kit Level: Sixth – Eighth Grade

Students investigate population growth in the world and develop a plan to grow more food on a shrinking amount of soil through STEM concepts. 
Kit Level: Kindergarten – Second Grade

Students explore the five food groups and which Nebraska-grown foods fit into each group. This club makes a local connection to good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. 
Apply to be Teacher of the Year!
The Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the Year award recognizes two teachers for their interest and integrated efforts to teach students about the importance of agriculture. The winners of the award receive:
  • A trip to the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference to gain new ideas for their classroom.
  • Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation Book Bundle featuring twelve agriculture books. 
  • $250 cash prize for use in their classroom. 
Who can apply?
Full-time, kindergarten – eighth grade teachers who integrate agriculture into non-vocational agriculture classroom settings. 

Past winners may not apply again. 

Application deadline is December 6.  
Ag Pen Pal Program
Classrooms : The schedule asks that you send your first letter by October 31. If you haven’t sent your letter, please get in touch with your farmer or rancher soon!

Farm & Ranch volunteers : The deadline for your second letter is January 31. Your classroom is looking forward to your reply! If you have not heard from your classroom, please notify Jenna Sutterfield at jennas@nefb.org or (402) 421-4747.

November – December is a break for the Ag Pen Pal Program. Volunteers, what can you do in the meantime?
  • Answer questions received in October letter. 
  • Visit the classroom. 
  • Participate in the Agriculture Reading Hour program.
  • Send a holiday card or postcard to check in and drop a quick note!
Agriculture Reading Hour
Farm, ranch, and agriculture industry leaders: are you planning to attend the Nebraska Farm Bureau Convention ? Sign up to participate in the Agriculture Reading Hour program and pick your book up in Kearney on Monday, December 9 at the Nebraska Farm Bureau Convention. 

Each book is provided by the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation at no cost. You can arrange a time to read Right This Very Minute to a classroom of your choice to share about the importance of agriculture.
