In July, 2018, the Community Health Endowment of Lincoln (CHE) kicked off the celebration of its 20th anniversary, Health 20/20, with a goal of having 20 events during their 20th year.  
    
They far surpassed that goal, partnering with 22 different organizations, to organize 30 events across Lincoln.  What's next for them?  Read and find out.

      Half Marathon Training at the YMCA

Downtown Lincoln YMCA will be offering a specialized training for individuals who want to learn how to run a half marathon or how to run at a faster pace. 

Class topics include nutritional, physical, and mental training. Classes will be held on Sundays (8-9 am), Mondays (6:30-7:30 pm), and Thursdays (6:30-8 pm) from August 8 through October 31. Cost is $55 for YMCA members and $85 for non-members. To register or more info 
Cornhusker State Games, July 19-28

The Cornhusker State Games are a statewide amateur sports festival for all Nebraskans.   Scheduled for  July 19-28  at more than 70 sites in Lincoln, Omaha and surrounding communities, the games offer top quality competition featuring athletes of all ages and abilities. More info.

 Streets Alive! part of a great weekend of fun in September
  
Please join us on  Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 1-4:30 PM for our 9th annual  Streets Alive!  hosted by the South Salt Creek/Cooper Park neighborhood.

Street Alive! will be part of an active week in Lincoln starting off with the LPD Catch a Cop Kids Fun Run on Sept. 21 in Mahoney Park.  South central Lincoln will come together to celebrate Streets Alive! on Sept. 22 in the South Salt Creek and South Downtown area, the Lincoln Calling Music Fest from Sept. 18-22, and the Lincoln Arts Festival from Sept. 21-22 both in the downtown area.  Look for a great mix of fitness, music and art!

We encourage everyone to bike, walk, skate, or trolley between these special events to enjoy a beautiful, active, and festive week.  Watch future e-newsletters for more details.

Streets Alive! is a FREE outdoor event that celebrates active living, wellness, and healthy eating in a festival full of entertainment, join-in sports and fitness demonstrations, art, music, and kids activities over a 2 mile traffic-free route.

Sign Up to Be Resource Exhibitor, Fitness/Sports Demonstrator, or Farmer's Market/Food Court Vendor  
Whether you are providing resources (health screenings, education, information), leading fitness classes, demonstrating your sport, or providing produce or healthy food at the food court, you can reach thousands of people over the course of one afternoon.  Over the years, our attendance has grown to an average of 4,000 visitors over the afternoon.  This is a great opportunity to be a visible part of a a free city-sponsored event.

Streets Alive! boasts a variety of great entertainment - music, dance, magic, balloon art, puppet shows ... just to name a few!

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health, wellness, and fitness of Lincoln's children, families, and seniors.
