Trump Administration Welcomes Launch of Israel Defense Pact Signed Under Obama
The Trump Administration welcomed the "the bi-partisan nature" of U.S. support for Israel, as a 10-year defense agreement signed in 2016 under President Barack Obama kicked in. The $38 billion Memorandum of Understanding went into operation this week, the first day of the new fiscal year.

In Jerusalem, Merkel Says Palestinians Must Accept Israel as Jewish State
At a joint press conference in Jerusalem, Merkel said she plans to call Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and ask him several questions about the peace process, including about his policies vis-a-vis Gaza. She endorsed the two-state solution, but also acknowledged that there are "many other" possible ways to solve the conflict.

PA Prevents Gaza from Receiving Qatari Fuel Aid, Increasing Danger of Violence
For the umpteenth time in recent months, Israel has received proof that severed relations between Jerusalem and Ramallah and between Ramallah and Gaza could significantly compromise security on the Gaza border. Abbas has repeatedly warned that that there can be no two separate entities ruling Palestinian lands, stating that if the PA is not handed complete control of the Gaza Strip, Hamas will have to take full responsibility for the territory.

Four California men who allegedly shared white supremacist views and trained together on boxing and street-fighting techniques were arrested by federal authorities Tuesday on charges that they traveled to Virginia with the intent to incite a riot and commit violence at last year's deadly far-right rallies in Charlottesville.

For at least as long as Brett Kavanaugh has been nominated for a Supreme Court seat, he has been justifiably considered to be a potential danger to reproductive freedom. Since he represents a possible fifth and decisive vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, Kavanaugh poses a threat to the future of legal and safe reproductive health care, including abortions. However, the focus around Kavanaugh's confirmation has been primarily on the multiple sexual misconduct allegations against him dating back to his high school and undergraduate years.

Where to Look on Election Day for Early Signs of a 'Blue Wave'
Democrats will get some early signals on election night of whether they should start breaking out the champagne or gird for disappointment. Bellwether competitive House districts in the Eastern time zone stretch from upstate New York to Florida and include economically struggling former industrial hubs, affluent suburbs and diverse urban regions. Some are must-wins for Democrats to have a chance at flipping the House, while the results in others would provide a glimpse into whether there'll be a "blue wave" that convincingly sweeps Republicans out of power in Congress. Democrats need to win 23 House districts now held by Republicans.

NASA Teams up with Israel on Probe Launching to Moon's Surface Next Year
NASA officials said that they will work with Israel on a probe slated to reach the moon in February, making it the fourth country in the world to reach the lunar surface. The American space agency and the Israel Space Agency have signed an agreement to "cooperatively utilize" the probe, being built by Israeli nonprofit SpaceIL to study the moon's magnetic fields. The agreement essentially means both countries will benefit from this mission.

The Best Sukkahs on Instagram Right Now
Building a sukkah is quite a feat, even if you buy one in pieces that you just have to put together. The process can take hours, and the result is not always glamorous. But eating meals under a thatched roof, with the blue sky or shining stars peeking through, is quite the reward (if the weather is nice, of course). While roaming Instagram for some Sukkot inspiration, we found a wide array of original sukkahs.

Joint Action Committee for Political Affairs (JACPAC) is a pro-Israel PAC with a domestic agenda. We support a strong U.S.-Israel relationship and advocate for reproductive health and the separation of religion and state and incorporate other issues of importance to the Jewish community, including gun violence prevention and climate change. In addition to providing financial support for U.S. Senate and House campaigns, JACPAC educates our membership with outreach events designed to inform and activate their participation in the political process.

Federal law requires political committees to report the name, mailing address, occupation and employer for each individual who contributes over $200 in a calendar year. Maximum contribution per person may not exceed $5,000 per calendar year. According to law, JACPAC cannot accept corporate contributions. Membership, gifts, or other payments to JACPAC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
