Bits and Pieces
January 14, 2020

Happy good, beautiful, wonderful week to us all!  Aren't we just so lucky, not to mention smart, to be here in Arizona, not fighting the terrible weather elements in the rest of our country?!?!  Prayers, understanding and sympathy go out to you if you're not reading this with the sunshine on your shoulder.  We take so much for granted sometimes, but most of us have empathy for our friends and family not here with us.  The big seasonal events are just getting fired up, like the Barrett-Jackson Car show and Auction, the Phoenix Open (it has a newer name but I don't remember it!) is approaching, and spring training for baseball looms ahead.  In our smaller circle of quilters, we can look forward to the Rusty Barn Show at the Fairgrounds on Jan 30, 31 and Feb.1.  We will be making a large presence there in Building 3 where we will feature Q'nique mid- and long-arm machines and accessories as well as Unique Sewing Furniture, custom crafted in Wyoming.  We are pleased to tell you that once again, head-honchos  Mark from Grace, and Pat from Unique, will be at our booths to demo, answer questions, solve problems and help you select that perfect longarm or furniture for your needs/wants.

We are fortunate to have both these men join us for the show, and so are you....they might be able to offer you some special tips or even deals that only the manufacturer can do.  Please plan to see us there!

Don't forget our Kimberbell Tea Party on Jan. 16 and 17.  Besides being a good time, you will complete 6 projects at the party, enjoy a catered lunch on the 16th, and some extra special tea cakes that Jeri and Jan are ordering in for you on the 17th.  So special, in fact, that they are delivered to you WARM.  There will also be prizes awarded for various things, a Gift Basket valued at over $100 to the winner of the most outrageous or elegant tea party hat that you choose to wear to the party.  And so much more.  All designed for you, with you, around you.  You will be getting some great sewing tips and lessons and techniques, and that's why we have two instructors for this party.  There is still space for you, so sign up and even bring a friend.  Kits and materials are all provided you, and you will receive all projects downloaded onto your USB stick.  We will be ready for you to set up and us to begin the downloads at 9, but class will begin at 9:30.  Please join us for the Tea Party at SVQ.

I should also mention that Kimber Krew, either the morning or the afternoon session, will be held on Friday, Jan.24.  You will make a Composition Notebook in the class.....and finish it, too!  As mentioned above, you can come in for set-up and download to your stick at 9 am, but class will officially begin at 9:30.  For the afternoon session, set-up and download will begin at 1 and class will begin at 1:30.

Again, I've jumped ahead on my dates, but I wanted to keep the Kimberbell event and class together to avoid confusion.  Hope I succeeded...

On Monday, Jan. 20, Jeri will be here with Embroidery from OESD in the morning class (9:30-12:30) and you will be working on creating an apron from a simple dishtowel!  The technique here is learning perfect design alignment, and you will study continuous borders and make them.  The project is simple, but the techniques carry on to many of your projects.  Bring your machine and USB jump drive, or purchase one from us.

Scrap Quilting with LeAnn is on Tuesday, and is formatted as a sit-and-sew club.  But wait-every month, LeAnn has yet another use for scraps to show you!  The club is currently in the 4th session of 8.

Wed. 1-29-20 begins Marilyn's Rulers Can Quilt class, featuring the beautiful Dahlia featured in the classroom.  You will be learning how to use the rulers for quilting.  This is a monthly on-going class, so check out what all you will be learning and sign up now.  Class size is limited so that everyone can get individual attention, and we can add classes if there is lots of interest.  We already have a waitlist started!

More sunny good news.......we were able to snag two more Tula Pink BERNINA 770 machines, complete with GWP valued at around $2,000, and priced to sell to you.  We have them In Stock, waiting for you to carry away!  Remember that BERNINA's Clearance Sale is still in effect, so don't miss this sale if you're looking for a fantastic machine at a fantastic price!  Come in and talk with us.  We can offer financing if you wish.

Q'nique and SVQ are offering 20% off accessories in January, and we are all sharpening our pencils to get you the BEST DEALS possible at the Rusty Barn Show.  You will be shocked at what the prices are for these machines and frames.  The hoop frame is only about 5' long, so space is not an issue, it will support your domestic machine or Q'nique's 15. 15 Pro or 19" long arm machine, and quilt a King sized quilt.  That's right ---- 5' of space will quilt a King.  How about that!!!  And in the 4 digit price range, too, depending on machine.  And of course, we have the larger Q zone or Continuum frames for you to consider, also.  Something wonderful for you to try!

Have a great week, plan on spending at least part of it with us learning and making and enjoying, and know that we look forward to seeing you here!
