Dear Evangelists,
I pray you are well and reaching many souls with the powerful Word of God as you travel and preach. My constant prayer for you is Matthew 9:38, that the Lord of the Harvest would send you out as His laborers in the harvest!
Our Evangelists' Retreat at the Convention in Dallas back in June was wonderful; many of you attended, and we enjoyed a great time of fellowship and worship together. We had two great days together, with about 60 people in attendance, with music, inspiring messages, and a lot of fun. I hope you will put the next Southern Baptist Convention on your calendar; the dates are June 7-12 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Reaching The World
Many of you have shared great reports recently of God's blessing on your ministry as you have preached the Word throughout Texas and other states, but also in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, India, Pakistan,
Romania, Panama, Mexico and many other countries. God is working through our Texas evangelists all around the world, and you are reaching many thousands of people with the Good News of Christ!
Trouble in Serbia
Our dear friend and brother evangelist, Allen Buchanek, was on mission in Serbia, and suffered a terrible fall down a flight of stairs, resulting in a broken hip and broken scapula. He is presently in a hospital in Belgrade, has had surgery, and is doing some better, but still has a long road of recovery ahead of him. He is also incurring many thousands of dollars in medical and transport bills, and we want to help him all we can. He will likely stay in Belgrade another week or so, and then attempt a return to Texas/Houston for further care, via commercial airline.
Please help us spread the word; let's work together raise some funds to help Allen with his financial obligations. His son, Korey, is with him in Belgrade now, and is handling the business aspects of all that needs to happen for Allen. Gifts can be made in three different ways:
