Let's help our colleagues in Sweden!
As with other countries in Europe, the medical education system in Sweden excludes black skin. A team of black physicians and nurses in Sweden is writing a handbook about how different diseases may present in black skin. Pull out your patient images and help! You will receive photo credit in the book.

Congrats to the students of the NMA Derm Mentorship Committee for presenting at the University of Michigan Diversity in Medicine Conference!

This year there was a record-breaking number of abstract submissions. "National Medical Association Dermatology Mentorship Program created to increase interest and entry of URM students into dermatology" by our students Sophia Ederaine, Diane Ihebom, and Zainab Mohammodu was selected for poster presentation!
#MedGradWishLIst

This past week, the viral hashtag initiative #medgradwishlist, started by 4th year medical student Farrah-Amoy Fullerton, focuses on supporting graduating URM 4th year medical students with items from personalized Amazon wishlists to aid in transition to residency and temper anxious 4th year students waiting to Match. Sophia Ederaine, a 3rd year medical student, saw this as an opportunity to advocate for 4th year students in the NMA Dermatology Mentorship Program to receive a brand new Bolognia Dermatology Essentials book.


With the help of Stanford professor and Dermatologist Dr. Roxana Daneshjou, this initiative has given away over 50 textbooks to future Dermatology hopefuls!
