"How Naval Aviation Prepared Me For Ministry"

Commander John Marc Wiemann was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland as the youngest of six children. He graduated with Merit from the United States Naval Academy in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
He attended Naval Flight Officer (NFO) training at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida and Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, California and earned his wings in November of 1987. He was then assigned to Patrol Squadron 45 in Jacksonville, Florida and deployed to Scotland, Bermuda, the Azores, Spain, Crete and France primarily tracking Russian submarines in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
In 1994 he left active duty to go to seminary and enter into ministry. He joined the Naval Reserves with Patrol Squadron 65 in Point Mugu, California. His assignments included NATOPS Evaluator, Training Officer, Maintenance Officer, Administrative Officer, Command Executive Assistant. As Tactical Coordinator and Mission Commander in the P-3 Orion aircraft he led missions out of Hawaii, Panama, Belize, Curacao, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Ecuador, South Korea, Okinawa and Misawa, Japan.

Estrella Warbirds Museum
recently acquired a
Saab J-35 Draken,
which is currently in storage at Chino, CA. This exceptional Swedish Mach 1.7 fighter jet needs to be transported to Paso Robles as a static display. Transport costs are just under $6,000. We need your help!

Now On Display in The Woodland Auto Display
This 1970 Don Edmunds - AutoResearch Sprint Car, #95, was built for Joe Hunt of Hunt Magneto fame for his son, Tom. It is one of only two built by Don Edmunds to have the space fram's upper rail dip don and run under the exhaust headers. This was done for quick engine removal and replacement. It is also one of the last of the beautiful "full-bodied" Sprint Cars built. The 365 cubic inch engine currently in the car is the first built by Sprint Car hall of fame, Ron Shaver, for Sprint Car racing. It was built in his father's garage as he had not yet gone into business.
This combination proved very successful as Tom Hunt had multiple Trophy Dash and Main Event wins plus he was CRA's "Most Improved Driver" in 1974.
This is only one of many sprint, midget, modified race cars, plus numerous classic vintage and historical vehicles on display at the
Woodland Auto Display. Come on down and visit us soon! Plan on staying a while to take it all in.
