Whew! What a week!
Thank you to everyone who came out to see us during the 2019 Vermont Quilt Festival week. We hope you all had a good time, and that you found the fabrics, notions, books, and inspiration you were looking for while you visited us. We enjoyed seeing you, even when things were crazy and lines were long. We truly appreciate the fact that you continue to take the time before or after the quilt show (or both!) to come into the store to see what's new, what's on sale, and what we think you'll love in our inventory.

Over the next few days, we'll be soaking our feet, catching our breath, and putting things back in order. So if you stop in and have trouble finding the fabric you're looking for, just ask - it might be in transit from one end of the shop to the other.

In this issue, you'll find Christmas in July, with all our holiday fabrics below. We've got some really great prints this year - plenty to start (and finish) a new project or two, and some great "go-withs" - for projects where you need just one more fabric. We also have several advent calendar panels and kits remaining after the festival. Judy's done her usual stellar job of making all of the store's advent calendar samples. And when you buy an advent calendar panel, you get her tips and tricks sheet - free! We look forward to seeing you very soon.

Summer Classes
We still have some openings in our summer classes, listed below.  Click on the class name for more information, or to sign up online. You can also sign up by stopping in, or calling the shop at 802-872-9300.

Vickie will be offering  Chic Picnic (at left) as a full-day class on July 21. You'll learn to use the Quick Curve Ruler to make this striking quilt. She says that, using this method, curves are not as hard as they seem.

Vickie will also be teaching the Herringbone Pillow (at right) this summer, on July 23. This is also a full-day class, where, using a template, you'll learn this method of piecing with no Y-seams!

If you are a beginning quilter, looking for a comprehensive class to teach you all the basics, you're in luck! Ruth will be teaching Intro to Quilting (at left), and Machine Piecing this fall. Additionally, you can choose to take the classes either during the day or in the evening. Click on the class titles above for more information.

All the Trimmings

by Maywood Studio

What fabulous holiday cheer! Letters to Santa, candy cane stripes, Christmas trees, and more. So much fun, and so many ideas. Any of these prints would make great stockings or gift bags.

Scandi 2019

by Makower

We love these classic red-and-white prints from Makower. Need a new tree skirt? These would be fabulous! How about a cheery table runner?

Merry Starts Here

by Moda

The prints Judy chose from this line are meant to complement other lines and fabrics we have at the shop. All of these can also be used for other, non-holiday projects. The designs are pretty contemporary!

Merry & Bright

from Sue Zipkin

by Clothworks

Not one print in this group screams "holiday", making all of them very versatile. This line is a bit more artistic, so use these prints when you're looking for a more sophisticated look.

Mistletoe

by Andover

Black is a hot color in holiday lines this year - it appears many of the designers agree that using black highlights all the other colors they're working with. This group is just stunning! We love the hills and dales in the tree print (bottom in photo). To Grandmother's house we go!

Northern Lights

by Andover

There's not much blue in this year's holiday lines. Here's what we've got - some fun prints to brighten a stocking, and a great text print with a classic phrase (one we don't want to hear until late November!).

Merriment

from Gingiber

by Moda

Here's this year's modern take on the holidays. This line is versatile enough for anyone to include in their Christmas sewing. Snowflakes, trees, and leaves & berries. Who doesn't love these?

Various cardinal prints

by Hoffman

This year, Hoffman has upped their game with the cardinal prints! Of course they're using metallic highlights, but now they're using gorgeous background colors like gray and navy. Oh, the things we can make!

Holiday Lodge

from Deb Strain

by Moda

This line of fabric is another one with versatility. The prints are great for the holidays, but also very useful for making quilts you want to display all winter. The red plaid used to fill out the animals (bottom right in photo) is reminiscent of snowy cabins in the mountains.

Snow Days

by Henry Glass

We really enjoy fabric lines that incorporate nature, but with some realistic colors and images. This is a line like that. Judy used the border print (top left in photo) to make an adorable 60-degree runner that we have hanging in the shop. How about using this line to make a throw for your favorite child to snuggle under on Christmas Eve?
