All-of-Us Express Children's Theatre is looking for a Light Designer/Crew Leader to join their winter production of 12 Dancing Princesses and Rumpelstiltskin.  This person would be responsible for designing, moving and programming all lights and cues, as well as teaching a small crew of 3-4 youth participants the basics of light design. The crew would then run the lights during all performances under the Crew Leader's supervision.  The schedule is low-commitment and relatively flexible. A small stipend is also available.

Volunteer positions are open at the Downeaster Theatre. They are looking for enthusiastic theater lovers to assist in a variety of positions, including 

construction, painting, box office, concessions, ushers, fliering, audition assistants and merchandise sales. Contact the executive director with interest.

EVE (End Violent Encounters) is hosting a Logo Design Contest.  They are looking to re-design their logo to encompass all the awesome services they offer. A Cash Prize of $2,500 will be awarded to the winner. The goal of this logo is to encompass the many services EVE offers to its clients. Please view the rules and regulations for more details. Join the Arts Council for their next smARTS workshop on Oct. 24! Piper & Gold Public Relations is sharing key components of storytelling. In today's digital driven world, we are constantly being inundated with messages. It is important to stay true to who you are and ensure that your story comes across in a meaningful way. In this workshop, they will be taking a deeper dive into your story and assist you with creating a narrative that is true to you but can also resonate effectively with your audience. 

Attracting new audiences, retaining existing audiences and staying connected with communities are some of the most difficult work undertaken by artists and arts organizations. Join Arts Midwest for new insights, tools and real-time examples to help you craft new messages and experiences that increase participation and engagement in your organization. This Creating Connection workshop will take place Oct. 12 at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

The 2018 East Lansing Community Photo Contest is officially underway! Show everyone what you love most about East Lansing by submitting up to five high-resolution photos taken in the community during any of its four seasons. Winning photos will be featured in City of East Lansing marketing materials - online and in print. There will also be gift card prizes. Deadline to submit is Oct. 14.

Come join the Lansing Art Gallery for an Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop with  Lansing Poet Laureate  Dennis Hinrichsen to be held at the gallery in downtown Lansing on Oct. 16 and 23. Ekphrastic poetry is defined as a literary description of or commentary on a visual work of art. This two-part workshop will explore writing poetry about art by considering the current exhibit Sorting Sightings by artist Peter Arbrami and other pieces on display at the Gallery. 

The United States Mint is seeking professional artists to join their Artistic Infusion Program. The program is a pool of talented American artists who enrich and invigorate our Nation's coins and medals through the development of specialized designs. Artists who can bring innovative perspectives, and who can effectively utilize symbolism to create original artwork that conveys a particular subject matter, should consider applying. Application deadline is Oct. 29.

REACH Studio Art Center is now offering their line up of Fall programs and classes. With tiered price point, their variety of art workshops and courses are accessible to all. Classes range from Clay to Portfolio to Comics, with classes for all ages.

The 2nd Annual Social Justice Art Festival is a one-day event co-hosted by James Madison College and the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities at MSU. The inspiration for this event is derived from contemporary art shows and local festivals that capture the sentiment of art, unity and justice. They are currently seeking interested artist participation. First artist information meeting is Dec. 3.

All-of-us Express Children's Theatre is currently seeking directors and crew members (makeup, lights/sound, etc.) for their 30th season of shows. Theater positions will work directly with you in mentorship roles. Positions are paid on a contractual basis per show.

Halloween makeup workshops are happening in time for the Halloween season at Downeaster Theatre. Come learn how to do fun or scary makeup for Halloween! All makeup and instruction provided for those 7 and up - with enough product to take home for your night out! Four different-themed sessions are being offered from Unicorn to Vampire. Please wear a button-down shirt and arrive on time. Preregistration is required.

Nominate a fellow Artist or Arts Advocate for an Applause Award! The aim of the Arts Council of Greater Lansing's Applause Awards is to recognize individuals, businesses, organizations and other advocates who have made significant contributions to the arts in the capital region through their leadership, commitment, vision and support.  All awards nominations are due by Oct. 15. Awards will be presented at the Arts Council's Holiday Glitter & Applause Awards on Dec. 4, 2018.
