Canucks Autism Network is currently looking for individuals to assist with our Swim program that will be running on Sundays from
January 19th-March 15th,  11:00am-1:00pm at Westsyde Pool.
The swim program teaches basic swimming and water safety skills, under the Canadian Red Cross Swim program. Each lesson consists of a small group of participants with a high ratio of support provided by a certified swim instructor and trained support workers.
We are looking for a qualified swim instructor (must have valid NLS, First Aid/CPR-C and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification) and 1-2 support workers.  If you or anyone you know might be interested, please encourage them to visit our website to apply Here or contact emily.stuible@canucksautism.ca with any questions.

The Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club are looking for friendly outgoing personnel to join the volunteer family that helps take care of all Blazer hockey games.  The volunteer team is also used to help out with Kamloops Minor Hockey, Hockey Canada, and International Ice Hockey Federation events when requested.  The volunteer team is also there whenever the Hockey Club needs a helping hand.

Volunteer duties performed at Hockey games include;

-  Front door personnel, that greet the patrons, as well as scanning their tickets and helping with sponsors promotional handouts.
- Area monitors, that use radios in the performance of their duties to work as a team in attempting to ensure that the patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Ushers, that help patrons find their assigned seats and monitor their section for any issues that may arise and attempt  to keep aisles clear when the pick is in play.

There are other duties to perform, but these are the main categories.  Each calendar year consists of approximately 40 events and we ask that volunteers prepare to attend at least 20.

Applicants must be 19 years of age or older, able to stand for a few hours if necessary, and be able to clean a criminal record check.  The application can be found on the Kamloops Blazers website or picked up at the Sandman Center box office, club office, or at hockey games.

Quality Sport for Communities and Clubs

In this resource, our purpose is to provide a guide to Quality Sport delivery based on Long-Term Development, and to identify how community sport organizations can work with key partners, such as their National Sport Organization (NSO), Provincial/Territorial Sport Organization (PTSO) and municipal recreation departments, to improve and sustain Quality Sport. The resource will be useful for sport leaders, coaches, municipal recreation leaders, PTSOs, funders and everyone committed to working together to deliver the best possible sport to all Canadians.

We are now accepting nominations for the
2020 Hall of Fame inductees.
This year we are looking to induct individuals and have a special interest  in teams being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
 If you know of a team that has earned this recognition or an individual please send in their sport resume to

Glide, Slide, Jump, and Play!

When your child learns to master movement skills on ice and snow, it opens up a new world of fun for the whole family.  The trick is building on the foundation of movement skills already learned on solid ground.  If your kids can run, hop, throw, catch, jump, and balance in various ways, then they can learn to push, glide, and stop on ice, as well as slide, jump, and climb in snow.
