The Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club are looking for friendly outgoing personnel to join the volunteer family that helps take care of all Blazer hockey games. The volunteer team is also used to help out with Kamloops Minor Hockey, Hockey Canada, and International Ice Hockey Federation events when requested. The volunteer team is also there whenever the Hockey Club needs a helping hand.
Volunteer duties performed at Hockey games include;
-
Front door personnel, that greet the patrons, as well as scanning their tickets and helping with sponsors promotional handouts.
-
Area monitors, that use radios in the performance of their duties to work as a team in attempting to ensure that the patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience.
-
Ushers, that help patrons find their assigned seats and monitor their section for any issues that may arise and attempt to keep aisles clear when the pick is in play.
There are other duties to perform, but these are the main categories. Each calendar year consists of approximately 40 events and we ask that volunteers prepare to attend at least 20.
Applicants must be 19 years of age or older, able to stand for a few hours if necessary, and be able to clean a criminal record check. The application can be found on the Kamloops Blazers website or picked up at the Sandman Center box office, club office, or at hockey games.
