FairEntry is Open!
FairEntry is OPEN for 4-H Members to pre-register for the 2020 4-H Completion Events. Even though we are not doing a traditional Fair this year, pre-registration is STILL REQUIRED to participate in the completion events.

The pre-entry deadline (without a late fee) is TOMORROW, Friday, June 19, 2020 . A late fee of $25 per 4-H Member will be assessed for entries received between June 20 and June 26, 2020. After June 26, 2020, absolutely NO ENTRIES will be accepted for any reason.

If you have any questions on FairEntry, email Jean. Her email is at the top of this newsletter. DON"T wait until the last minute. The pre-entry deadline WILL NOT be extended.

Emails are still the best way to contact us as they are checked regularly. Please do not call and leave voicemails, they are not checked as often due to the fact that our office is still only open via appointment only.

Click on the blue FairEntry Arrow above on the right to go to FairEntry.

Once there, click on the green "Sign in with 4HOnline" button to log in. Do NOT click on the blue log in button. See the image on the right.

Please note: Video and E-record uploads are NOT required to finish your entries in FairEntry. There is a blue button that says "Continue" at the bottom of that screen. Just scroll down and click the button to proceed.
Please pay attention to your emails!
Instructions will be coming soon for video and E-record uploading in FairEntry.

Also, Rabbit members, families and leaders, Ethan sent out an email on 6/16/20 at 10:14 p.m. with very important details in regards to this year's Rabbit completion event.
Do You Need a Signature?
Do you need a signature on your E-record? There are a few options the State Office has given us for this year.
  • You can ask your leader(s) to send you a note saying that they are signing the project.
  • Your leader(s) could email you their signature for the you to put in the e-record.
  • You can email your E-record to the leader to have them sign it and return it to you.
4-H Member Spotlight
Hi, my name is Garrett Fetty and I have been in 4-H for 6 years and I am a member of the Antelope Crossing 4-H Club. I am currently taking pigs and small engines this year. I have also taken shooting sports, model craft, and model rockets. This year my pigs’ names are Red and Tilly. Tilly is more ‘enthusiastic’ than Red, but Red has a better personality for Showmanship Class. I really like my small engine project as I really like working on engines and getting my hands dirty. 4-H, along with family and friends, have been teaching me responsibility and good work habits. I have gotten better with my responsibilities and choosing what I should do first. I may not be excited about doing my work first but, then I have more time to relax and enjoy life. I especially like playing sports (golf, bowling, basketball and baseball) outside of 4-H.

Hello! My name is Grant Fetty and I’m 13 years old. I have been in 4-H for 6 years now. In the past I have done Shooting Sports, Creative Cooks and Model Rocketry. Outside of 4-H I play golf, baseball, basketball, and bowling. This year I am doing pigs and cooking and my pigs are named Bomb and Bob. I enjoy being with these two big fellas and they have been progressing nicely while working them in the practice pen. Over the past 6 years of 4-H I have learned so much; how to cook delicious muffins, how to use different strategies to get the judge to focus on you while showing your pigs and trying new things that you haven’t done. 4-H is all about trying new things and learning how to succeed in something you never have done before. Most importantly though is to try your best and have fun! Like hanging out with your friends at Fair when you have free time.
Congratulations to Arapahoe County 4-H member Kaylee Sefcovic on being awarded two Colorado 4-H Foundation scholarships!

They are the CSU Freshman Scholarship and the Audrey Sandstead Scholarship.

Face to Face Programming Request Policy
We appreciate your patience as we work to continue to offer high quality 4-H programming in Arapahoe County. As of May 16, 2020, CSU Extension has directed that we will continue virtual delivery for a vast majority of our programming. For those activities that are not able to be completed virtually, such as shooting sports practices (with certified shooting sports leaders), horse levels testing, horse practices, dog practices, and livestock clinics, CSU Extension will permit in-person activities that comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and public health guidance . At this time, this does NOT include 4-H club meetings, those will still need to be held virtually at this time. Please email our 4-H staff if you have questions about specific activities.

If you are interested in hosting an event, you must contact Arapahoe County Extension Staff at least TWO WEEKS prior to the event. This will allow for the office to develop a program plan request to be submitted to CSU Extension Administration and State 4-H. All activities must be submitted to CSU Extension administration prior to the event, 4-H staff will work with leaders on the required documentation for these programs. These activities will also adhere to CSU policies in support of public health and safety. Our ultimate goal is to remain relevant, strong partners within our Colorado communities, while also supporting their health and safety.

As part of Arapahoe County Government’s gradual facilities reopening plan, the Arapahoe County CSU Extension Office is now open by APPOINTMENT ONLY. We will not be able to accept walk-in clients at this time. Please email individual 4-H staff members to set up an appointment. Thank you!
Attention 4-H Members and Leaders!
There is a youth and adult participant form that will need to be filled out if you plan to participate in in-person programs (when allowed by all governing bodies) either as a member or volunteer. The form(s) must be completed and emailed to Jean at jwalton@arapahoegov.com so she can upload them in 4HOnline.
Updated Club Chartering Information

Your club or committee’s chartering documents must be emailed to Jean at jwalton@arapahoegov.com by August 31st . We will then upload your documents into 4HOnline for you.  Leaders need to completely fill out the chartering packet and send it to us. Electronic signatures are acceptable. All document signers must be enrolled and activated in 4HOnline! You do not have to upload the documents in 4HOnline.

Please note that ALL clubs MUST use the template the State has provided. No Exceptions. Articles I, IX and X must match the template word for word or your bylaws will not be accepted. You cannot change, delete or add anything to those articles. For the 2021 - 2022 4-H year, you will not have to resubmit the bylaws if nothing has changed.

If your club dissovles, pelase note that we have to have a statement from the bank showing your club account has been closed and has a zero balance. If your club doesn't have a bank account, just include a note that there was no previous bank account.
We would love to get the ball rolling early so this is not a last-minute project come August. Please engage your club members (virtually) in developing and updating your Annual Plan, Budget, and Financial Review. This is an IRS requirement of all 4-H clubs, committees and other entities. All of us at the county and state level are doing our best to make the process as easy and painless as possible. Thank you for your continued effort and work towards building a strong 4-H program in Arapahoe County. We hope this reminder allows you some time to start to prepare to get this accomplished. Click on the button above to access the chartering documents. We are here to support you, so please let us know if we can help in any way.
