On the Go this Summer? Take Us with You!
You can take your library with you wherever you go this summer--you don't even need room in your suitcase! Use your smart phone or tablet to download audio books for the road, eBooks for the flight, or movies for your down-time. It's easy to do from a browser or using apps such as Libby, OverDrive, and Hoopla. If you need help before you go, just stop by your local library. Share a picture with us on Facebook or Instagram (@deschuteslibrary) of you taking your library with you on vacation and we have some library swag we can send your way. Bon voyage!

Look for Us Out and About this Summer
Our library buildings are awesome, but did you know that the programs and services we provide extend beyond our walls? You'll find us in all kinds of places this summer. Look for us at free Summer Meals for Kids & Teens programs at area elementary schools and parks in Redmond, Bend, and La Pine. You'll also find us at ¡Biblioteca en Camino! at the Country Sunset Mobile Homes on Fridays in July from 12:30-2:00 p.m., and in August we'll be at the Deschutes County Fair. Look for fun and educational activities, books, prizes, and more wherever you find us!

Your Library Story: We'd Love to Hear from You
Time flies when you're having fun! Deschutes Public Library celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2020, and we'd love to hear from library users of all ages as we compile our virtual scrapbook of library memories. Do you have an old library card? Do you remember visiting the children's area when it was housed in the basement? Did you work at the library once upon a time? Let us know; we'd love to talk with you. Send your library stories and memories to us via email at [email protected].
