Fresh.Bowl , a dedicated fresh food vending machine that allows customers to return reusable glass jars, recently made its debut in New York City. The concept was created by a pair of entrepreneurs concerned about single-use package waste and at the same time wanted to provide chef crafted, nutritious meals. The company recently placed its first machines in Manhattan following a 6-month test by WeWork, the shared work space.

Founders Chloe Vichot and Zachary Lawless custom built the machines, which feature a touchscreen that allows customers to search meals by daypart category; breakfast, lunch, snacks, etc., and view nutrition, ingredients and allergens for each meal. Customers can pay with NFC credit and debit cards, prepaid cards such as office and university cards, and via mobile pay.

365 Retail Markets , a leading provider of micro markets, has launched its redesigned micro market payment app, 365Pay, to allow operators to engage with their customers in a whole new way.

The 365Pay allows consumers to enjoy mobile checkout and the convenience of a single stored value account that works seamlessly in micro markets, vending machines and in dining areas.

The app gives customers the ability to add funds, view purchase history, pay across multiple locations and manage their account all in one place. With 365Pay’s recent redesign, consumers receive an enhanced navigation experience, targeted promotions, next level customer service and more.

Vendon , a provider of business intelligence and telemetry solutions for the vending and coffee industry, has teamed with ATT Internet of Things solutions   to connect Vendon's business intelligence and telemetry system to the cloud.

Vendon's customers rely on the Vendon vBox, an IoT hardware device, installed on their coffee and vending machines and connected to Vendon Cloud to ensure machines are well stocked and in full working order. By connecting the Vendon vBox using AT&T IoT solutions, Vendon can offer its customers near real-time technical and sales data to guarantee snacks and drinks are always available and match the consumers' preferences.

The Telemetron monitoring system allows operators to remotely access information about the sales and technical condition of their vending machines, including available product and the availability of change.

The system consists of an M2M modem installed on the machine that works with MDB, EXE and DEX protocols and an online dashboard that displays operational information. The dashboard provides analytical reports on the overall status of the network, the efficiency of the machines, downtime, maintenance and cash collection.

The system notifies the operator of machine problems via SMS or e-mail. Such problems can include a power outage or if the machine is being shaken, beaten or moved. If the machine is turned off, the modem will automatically switch to power from a built-in battery.
