The Bureau of Engineering has published the results of the Taylor Yard G2 River Park community survey, conducted this past Spring. The survey aims to capture the priorities of the surrounding communities, as the project team prepares preliminary concepts for the site. Opening Tonight! Highland Park Independent Film Festival 2018

Join us for the 5th Annual Highland Park Independent Film Festival Opening Night - an evening of POWERFUL WOMEN. This year we open with "MARY JANES: THE WOMEN OF WEED," a groundbreaking, feature-length documentary film that follows female "ganjaprenueres" as they navigate the highs and lows of the legal cannabis industry in the United States. We will also be presenting Chicana playwright Josefina López (Real Women Have Curves) with the HPIFF Humanitarian Award.

The license plate is going digital! California is one of the first states in the nation to allow new digital license plates from a company called
Reviver Auto
. Think of a Kindle-like display bolted to your car’s bumper. The digital plates are low energy and display a basic image of your license plate number, but there is more technology at work behind the scenes that can help you pay tolls, broadcast emergency messages and even retrieve a stolen car.

City of LA First Time Homebuyer Programs

The Los Angeles Housing + Community Investment Department (HCIDLA) is pleased to announce that the City Council and Mayor have approved an additional allocation of $2 million for the Moderate Income Purchase Assistance (MIPA) Homeownership Program, which provides a “silent second” loan of up to $60,000 for down payment, closing costs, and acquisition financing.
They also announced key updates to the Low Income Purchase Assistance (LIPA)
