Business Matters By Legal Shield As your Legal Shield servant and representative, we receive more than 20,000 calls a week about identity theft and business-related issues. I'm constantly reminded of the two major breaches that happened in 2017 that still affects us today. In May 2017, credit reporting giant Equifax’s data breach resulted in the exposure of the personal data of 148 million individuals in the US, or 56% of all American adults. In that same month, a virus called WannaCry caused online destruction throughout 150 countries across the globe, destroying IT infrastructure of several major institutions and businesses. The origins of that virus still remain a mystery two years after that attack. I'm proud to say, the virus did not make any of our Legal Shield members cry.
