In late May, the graduates of the Class of 2019 knelt on the lawn at the school, as is their tradition after the graduation ceremony. One of the students leads them and the surrounding faculty, family and friends in prayer. The final shared activity on the campus is flinging their caps in the air!
It is due to your faithful support of our friends and donors that all these events took place. Although the campus is now void of students for the summer, I can assure you that the staff is hard at work preparing for next year. There is maintenance to do, planning to get done and tasks in general that are a part of sharing life on a campus dedicated to preparing students for life as a leader when they graduate in 2020, 2021, and so on.
Graduates I have met say simply
“Pan Am changed my life,”
and that is all I need to hear to know that our mission is being accomplished. Thank you for your faithful support of our ministry!

'Hats Off' to the Class of 2019!

The latest convocation of PPAS Eagles has flown from our nest! Faculty and staff, members of the Board of Trustees, and families and friends of the graduates gathered in the Harte Student Center for commencement on Saturday, May 18.
Camila Arjona
of Mexico City, Mexico was named Valedictorian, and
Gabriela Sanchez
from Minatitlan, Veracruz, earned the rank of Salutatorian.
As these graduates soar towards the next chapter of their lives, we are confident that God goes with them. Congratulations to all of our graduating seniors who are already being missed on campus!

'Coming Back to Give Back'
What a pleasure it was to have members of the Class of 1969 and 1979 back on campus on Saturday, May 25, 2019 to celebrate their 50th and 40th class reunions, respectively. And, what a wonderful surprise (and blessing) it was to receive a donation of $9,000 from the Class of 1969 to the Arnoldo Lopez Memorial Scholarship Fund. Then, to top it off, another check in the amount of $30,000 was presented by Laura Frischeisen '69 from her church, North Shore Presbyterian in Great Neck, NY to the same fund for a grand total of $39,000!
The Class of 1979 announced their intent to raise an additional $1,000 to take this total to an even $40,000, with additional plans forthcoming for future fundraising efforts. We are so grateful to all of our former students not only for "coming back," but also for "giving back" to their beloved Pan Am!

There is no doubt about the lasting impact Pan Am has made on the lives of students who study, work, learn, pray and worship here.

A Family Affair
For Class of 2019 graduate Omar Ortiz, graduation day was extra special. He was joined on stage by his father Omar Ortiz Castilleja '79 and grandmother Norma Castilleja '55 (Pres-Mex), making this graduation ceremony a true family affair.
What a joyous occasion it was to have three generations of Eagles joining together to share this unique experience. We were all glad to be a part of this, and we're sure the Ortiz family will cherish this memory for many years to come!
