Celebrate Independence Day with Us!
Save the date; Pontiac's Independence Day Celebration hosted by the Pontiac Elks Lodge will be on Friday, July 5th. Activities will begin at 4:30 PM at the Elks Lodge (459 Elks Club Rd.) with free Inflatables sponsored by Marlon Eilts - Country Insurance and free swim. Food and drink will be available for purchase. The Pontiac Municipal Band will perform at 6:30 PM in place of their regularly scheduled Friday night concert and the singer/songwriter duo Nicotine Poetic will perform 7:30 – 11:00 PM. The evening highlight will be a Fireworks show at dusk (approximately 9:10 PM) sponsored by Harriett Humiston Trust, The City of Pontiac, and Pontiac Elks Lodge.

This event is free and open to the public. Bring your own blankets or lawn chairs for seating. No outside food or drink, pets, or personal fireworks will be allowed during this event. For more information, contact the Pontiac Elks Lodge at 815-844-7168.
Don't miss out - two more chances to Rock at the River!

July 11: Sun Beard is a rootsy and rockin collection of Chicago artists from bands we all know and love in the local and regional club and festival scene. With a focus on songwriting influenced by the likes of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Wilco and more, the songs set the scene for pedal to the floor guitar solos and extended grooves. Sun Beard features members of Old Shoe, Family Groove Company, Cornmeal, and Backyard Tire Fire.
Casey McGrath will open the night with FiddleRock! her take on songs you love but with just her violin.

July 25: ANIMAL FARM is a Chicago-based quartet of musicians and educators whose lively performances entertain and engage children of all ages. Our stage show is a colorful blend of music, storytelling, hilarious antics and audience participation. Animal Farm’s songs explore themes of friendship, community and self-expression through the eyes of our furry, feathered, scaly and shell-dwelling friends. Adults will enjoy the smart and perceptive lyrics. Kids will relate to the challenges and triumphs faced by the hilarious cast of characters. And everyone will love the fun and upbeat music!

Activites start at the Band Shell at 5:00, opening acts begin at 5:30, and headline acts are from 7:00-9:00. We hope to see you there!
