FOR OUR PARTNER CONGREGATIONS

From the Executive Director
Dear Friends,

As we enter 2021, all of us at IAM want to say once again how much we value and respect our relationships with the many generous congregations in and around Henderson County that support our crisis services mission.

For 37 years, you have helped provide the solid foundation upon which our mission was built. With your critical support, IAM has become the leading source of immediate crisis assistance in Henderson County for our neighbors who are hungry, struggling to pay the rent, utility bills, prescriptions, and purchase clothing for their children as they grow.

We are humbled and gratified by your support. Thank you for blessing us with your support.

Stay well,
Make Your Plans for Souper Bowl 2021
Once again this year, IAM is proud to partner with tacklehunger.org in the Souper Bowl of Caring.

Souper Bowl of Caring helps transform the annual Super Bowl into a nation-wide movement inspiring people to give locally and make a collective impact on hunger. Mobilizing grassroots resources including churches, schools, civic groups, and caring individuals, the Souper Bowl of Caring movement has created over $160 million worth of support that stays completely local.

Here in Henderson County, you can organize a Souper Bowl of Caring drive in your faith congregation, neighborhood, civic organization, or club to help local neighbors who are food insecure.

An Easy Way for Your Congregation to Participate

An easy way is to ask your organization to collect cans of soup and other canned foods and donations of $1 or more to go with your food donations. Bring them to IAM during February, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

If you need help with a large drive, please call Ernest or Wally at IAM to arrange a pick-up: 828-697-7029.

Thank you for helping IAM feed the estimated 1 in 7 people (children and adults) in Western North Carolina who struggle with hunger and the 1 in 5 children facing food insecurity in our region of North Carolina.

This year, let's make sure we score a touchdown in the fight against hunger!

Seeking Volunteers
IAM is in need of additional volunteers during this challenging time.

We are very intentional about our safety protocols and have several socially-distant shifts available in our Food and Clothing Assistance Departments. We also have opportunities for van or truck drivers to travel to local stores to pick up food donations.

Volunteering is a wonderful way to start the new year off right. Call Dianne King, Volunteer Coordinator, at 828-697-7029 to see how you can help. Thank you.
IAM Media Resources
Thank you for your generous support of IAM. For over 30 years we have worked hand in hand with our compassionate and caring congregations in Henderson County to help our neighbors in need.

In 2020, IAM had over 26,000 points of contact with adults and children seeking assistance with food, clothing, mortgage/rent, utilities, medications, and special circumstances. Your congregation's support of IAM is essential to our ability to fulfill our mission. Thank you for helping us promote IAM in the community.
