Five Ways to Spark STEM Interest in Girls
 The NGCP recently participated in Mediaplanet USA's
STEM Education and Technology campaign where we united with like-minded industry leaders to educate readers about the thousands of schools and communities across the nation, spotlighting leaders in education, afterschool programs, and industry leaders leading the way in nurturing STEM learning both in and outside of the classroom, and providing support to educators and students to strengthen the STEM career pipeline. NGCP Annual Survey Reminder
External evaluators are administering our annual survey to investigate the reach and impact of NGCP. Responses are confidential and will be reported in aggregate to the project leadership, funders, and sponsors. We are asking all individuals who have registered to attend an NGCP event or webinar, Collaborative Leadership Team members, Champions Board members, and mini-grantees to please respond to this survey. The survey will close on July 31, 2018.

CryptoClub Training in Rochester
Rochester, NY; August 28, 2018
Looking for ways to make math fun? CryptoClub engages young people (grades 4-9) in activities that teach code encryption and decryption using a variety of math-based ciphers. This workshop will train educators in the CryptoClub curriculum. CryptoClub training is for both formal and out of school time educators, and is ideal in afterschool, summer, and expanded learning. Southern Oregon Leap Into Science Training
Medford, OR; September 14, 2018
Informal educators from libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs are invited to be trained in the Leap into Science curriculum and facilitation strategies. The training sets participants up to share three STEM and literacy events for preschool or elementary school aged children and their families. Register.

The Connectory Spotlight highlights programs and opportunities in
The Connectory. This free online collaboration tool for STEM program providers helps them find partners based on interests, as well as showcase STEM opportunities to families.
The Connectory is full of summer opportunities. Below we are featuring just three summer opportunities that have a girl focus.
Mighty Girls Summer Camp (Topeka, KS): The YWCA Northeast Kansas camp will focus on S.E.T. topics, exploring different careers in the community. Utilizing the Emmy award-winning SciGirls curriculum, participants will enjoy fun hands on activities.
Girls in Engineering (San Diego, CA): Hosted by the San Diego Air & Space Museum, girls will engineer their way to a brighter future by creating products related to aerospace, electrical, civil engineering, and receive engineering advice from local female experts as they complete hands-on challenges and gain new technical skills.
App Camp for Girls (Chicago, IL): This day camp allows girls, transgender, and gender non-conforming youth to put their creative powers to work designing and building apps. Campers will learn about the business of software while being inspired by role models in the industry.

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) challenges you to explore the "undiscovered" roles of local parks and recreation, like STEM programming; innovative health and wellness opportunities; outdoor education; and more. The NRPA website has resources and events to help you celebrate.
 SWENext Global Innovator Award Program
This SWENext Innovator Award recognizes the outstanding young women shaping the future of Society of Women Engineers (SWE) by developing an engineering identity in themselves and others. Applicants must be in grades 11-12 in October of 2018. Recipients receive an all-expenses paid trip to WE18 (SWE's global conference), recognition for their accomplishments during the awards banquet, participation in the SWENext High School Leadership Academy, participation in the "Invent it. Build it." event as an engineer's assistant, and more. Application deadline is July 31, 2018.
