State Offers Online Map of State-Owned Surplus Lands
California has launched an interactive map showing excess state-owned properties eligible for affordable housing development. Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered the creation of the map in Executive Order N-06-19.   State properties that were under-utilized or excess to need were identified and then screened to determine which sites would be potentially suitable for affordable housing development. Housing Bills on East Bay RPC Agenda
BIA|Bay Area Vice President of Governmental Affairs and Chief Counsel Paul Campos will provide BIA's East Bay Regional Policy Committee a comprehensive update on the status of housing litigation wending its way through the California Legislature. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 25, 2019, at KB Home's Training Room on the first floor, Bishop Ranch 8, 5000 Executive Parkway in San Ramon. City of Sunnyvale Rental Housing Inclusionary at Planning Commission
The City of Sunnyvale becomes the latest Silicon Valley jurisdiction to propose adopting AB 1505 provisions to its affordable housing program policies that would allow the City to require the inclusion of BMR units in rental residential projects. The City is seeking Planning Commission recommendations on the Draft Inclusionary Below Market Rate Rental Housing Ordinance requiring construction of a range of Low and Very Low Income units or possible payment of substantially higher in-lieu fees. Full Story
