Bloombase
Advanced Women Leaders (AWL) Program

W e know that when women come together to  collaborate with, learn from, and support other  women, change happens for themselves and  the world and teams around them.

The Bloombase Experience for Advanced
Women Leaders program brings together a small cohort of experienced women leaders committed to expanding their leadership approach and impact. The central purpose of the program is to support and challenge women to proactively grow and develop themselves to be even more confident, purposeful and influential leaders who produce positive impact in their lives, teams and organizations.

If you are interested in being a part of the next cohort in Indianapolis or Louisville, contact Sheri Fella.

IWL Blog Post:  Now is the Time to Be Fearless
By Paige Haefer
Orr Fellow & Marketing Associate, High Alpha

"Stepping into my first IWL conference as an attendee was surreal. The conference has grown tremendously with a sold-out crowd, but I think it's grown in other ways, too. A word to describe this year's conference might be: Fearless. "

Christi Anderson Personal Innovation Award
Congratulations Rhyan Smith!

Last Tuesday, we presented our 4th Annual Christi Anderson Personal Innovation Award at the Indianapolis IWL Women's Leadership Conference to Rhyan Smith, a single mother and 3rd year law student at Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Her nominator wrote that she is, "a woman who exemplifies determination and innovation as she rebuilds her life after surviving domestic violence, divorce, and financial devastation... she is determined not to be a victim, but to be victorious!"

This scholarship will help Rhyan grow as an emerging leader within her community and beyond, and will enable her to further the Finishers Scholar Initiative and connect her with other like minded women. Her long term goal is to practice corporate law and to advocate for women who have survived domestic violence.

We reconnected with our 2017 recipient, Adriena Wright, as well. She told us how she has used her scholarship money to fund college preparation workshops for first generation college students in urban areas. The 2018 Post-Graduate seminar was a college prep workshop hosted for ~250 students, including a power talk and breakout sessions to empower students with the skills they need to succeed.  Adriena told us,

" I am truly grateful for the Christi Anderson Personal Innovation Award. With the donations from the scholarship, I was able to increase the number of student attendees and bring in outside speakers. I also sponsored a Prom dress for one student and prom hair and makeup for three of the girls that attended the seminar."

We are now taking nominations for the 2019 Christi Anderson Personal Innovation Award! To nominate a deserving woman for next year's award, please use this nomination form. Donations can also be made to this scholarship fund.

Indy Women in Tech (IWiT) Summit: "See Yourself Here"

The IWL team enjoyed attending the  Indy Women in Tech (IWiT)  Summit on August  14, with 500 women and men dedicated to making our workforce better.  IWL CEO, Kim Graham Lee,  facilitated a main stage panel of leaders in tech who dove deep into the challenges women face and how we can all work together to solve them. Kim spent a significant period of her own career leading tech companies as a C-Suite executive.

IWL is proud to be engaged with IWiT and other organizations that are doing amazing work to close the gender gap and empower great leaders!

One of the main messages of the 9th Annual IWL Indianapolis Conference was the importance and power of being authentic, so this September we're focusing on being  Authentically You. We want to challenge you to make authenticity a priority this month. Are you bringing your whole, best self to work? It is mentally taxing to hide pieces of ourselves - and why should we? This month, take a few minutes to think about what your best qualities are - what are the characteristics you're most proud of, and which are the biggest parts of your identity? Write these down so you won't forget. Then pay attention to how you're showing up at work. Are you bringing those qualities with you? Do you talk openly with coworkers about those big identifiers? Even if you can identify one thing to be more open about at work, this will make each day more natural and will bring you closer to those around you. Your authenticity might just help someone else open up too. Now is the time to be authentically you
