Sermon Text: Matthew 13:1-9
The Road Less Traveled

My neighborhood has a Facebook group, as do a lot of neighborhoods do these days. When I first joined the group I considered it a good way to stay connected with people in a pretty large neighborhood and to stay up to date with any relevant neighborhood news. Over the past...

Special Buddies
As a church, we have all done a good job of creating a loving, nurturing environment for our children and youth.  We all strive to attain the goal of having our kids experience Christ's love, to learn and grow and mature in their faith.   To ensure that these children and teens with special needs are integrated fully into the Sunday School classes AND to be certain that EACH AND EVERY STUDENT is able to clearly focus on the lessons being taught in Sunday School, I need to ask for your help.  In order to fulfill our mission of the church, it is imperative that we welcome the opportunity to partner with our special needs students in order to assist them in Sunday school. Won't you please consider serving on our Special Buddies team by signing up to volunteer once a month as a Special Buddy?  If you are interested, please contact Meghan Strayer
Blessing Bags
Our Revive Student Ministry has started a Blessing Bag ministry. We ask that our church family partner with us by blessing our homeless neighbors with these bags. Pick a bag or bags out of
the marked bin in the Narthex to keep in your car to give some love to homeless friends when you encounter them on your drive to work or everyday life!

This Season of Advent is almost here! If you would like to sing with our choir on a short-term basis through the holidays, we would love to have you. Come celebrate our Savior's birth by singing in the Advent Choir this season. Email Thomas for more information.
Prophet Margin Bible Study
Wednesday, 6:00pm

The New Testament is filled with references to fulfilled prophecies from the Hebrew Scriptures. This 5-week study will examine the Old Testament prophecies that are found in the
New Testament, delving into their original context and original significance to the Jewish people. Then we will take that context and view it through the lens of the New Testament, applying that richness to the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Contact Rev. Lee Trigg at for more information.
Third Grade Bibles
  Sunday, October 20th

Each year Bibles are given to our third grade students during worship.  If your child is in third grade and would like to receive a Bible, please email Meghan Strayer  by October 16th with your child's name as you would like it inscribed in their Bible and the service you attend.

Are you taking advantage of electronic giving?
When we join the church, we pledge to support the life and ministry of the church with our financial gifts. That can get complicated on those weeks when we can't be here as the offering plate comes around. But through electronic giving, you remain faithful to your membership vows, even on those weeks when life takes you elsewhere. It's easy. It's safe. And it benefits both you and your church family. Setting it up is easy and only takes a few minutes. Contact Shari Birchell  to set up an automatic transfer from your checking account. Or go to Aledo UMC to use your credit or debit card.
