Protecting nature for future generations
Your donation will create new Nature Reserves
In 2016, we asked you to take a stand with us in support of protecting at least 17% of terrestrial and inland water areas and 10% of coastal areas by 2020. Well over 2,000 people signed our pledge, saying that YES , protecting nature in our region matters.

With your help we are working to make that goal a reality. The Black River Wildlands Corridor Campaign is a major, multi-year campaign to protect one of the most important wild places in the region. It is home to many Species at Risk, has a strong connection to other protected places and features highly vulnerable aquifers.

The first property within this Campaign is the Pitts & Milligan, a 185 acre parcel with a mixture of alvar and forest. It is home to the headwaters of the Head River, and we are racing to raise funds to protect this special place. We have until October 31, to raise $210,000. Can you help create this new Nature Reserve?

That's a wrap on the Summer field season, but there's still plenty of time for fall monitoring trips (minus the mosquitoes and blackflies).

The BluMoose Ride Re-Cap

Thank you so much to all of the riders who participated in the BluMoose Alvar ride on September 7. Over 40 people took part, completing a 90km or 150km ride from Couchiching Beach Park to the Carden Alvar.

This event is organized by the family of Danya Leemhuis, who loved the Alvar.
