Dear Valued Hal Leonard Retailer,
This information is intended for accounts of Hal Leonard that sell and ship products into California, either through a storefront or via a website. If that does not apply to you, you can disregard this email.
For those that sell and ship into California, the revised California Prop 65 regulation requires product manufacturers to provide "clear and reasonable warning" on products containing chemicals that may cause cancer or reproductive harm. Although the responsibility to sticker the product is with the manufacturer, everyone involved in the logistics of bringing the product to market - including the distributor and retailer - are responsible for getting this message in front of the consumer.
Prop 65 regulation does not apply to musical publications printed by Hal Leonard. Click here to download an Excel report listing all products sold by Hal Leonard which DO require a warning per the Prop 65 regulation. Updated listings will be provided as needed. Please use this listing to update your website and/or product displays as necessary. Starting in mid-September, our weekly FTP data feed will also indicate the Prop 65 info on the qualifying products. If you get our weekly data feed, this will be a good way for you to get this information automatically. Product shipped from our Winona warehouse that requires the Prop 65 warning will be labeled accordingly.
Dealers have certain responsibilities surrounding Prop 65 for products that require warnings including:

Internet sales of product requiring a prop 65 warning must provide the warning prior to the consumer completion of the purchase (either on the product display page or during checkout). |

Paper catalogs need to provide the warning |

For stores located in California, products displayed outside their box need to provide proper warnings |
