New Pump Shop at Law Valve of Texas

For more than 20 years Law Valve has been rebuilding and repairing valves for our customers. Our customers know and trust the quality of our valve repair services and now we’ve brought that same high standard of work to pump repair services in our new, state-of-the-art Pump Shop.

Located in the Houston Ship Channel, our new Pump Shop is the only inland pump repair facility in the industry. We’re able to rebuild any vertical turbine or screw pump used on an inland barge and our unique, vertical building process sets us apart from our competitors because it assures the alignment of all bores and shaft sets in the pump. We know that time wasted is money, which is why we have our own trucks and drivers to control the pickup and delivery process.

We are able to provide in-house balancing and shaft straightening. We can balance impellers, thread and straighten shafts, and machine bowls. We also have engineering support from our parent company at ERL, allowing us to solve technical issues and offer recommendations on how to improve your pump. In the fourth quarter of 2019, Law Valve will introduce our new Pump Test Facility, specifically designed for tank barge pump testing. We will offer testing on pumps up to 20” long and 500 horsepower. Our on site test facility has the capabilities of providing real-life flow curves, horsepower requirements, vibration analysis, and initial startup verification.

We provide 24/7 service and our jobs are tailored to customer specific pump rebuild standards to ensure that your pump is rebuilt to your standard.

Employee Spotlight:
Nathaniel Cornell
Pump Shop Manager

Along with our new Pump Shop, we are proud to introduce Nathaniel Cornell as our Pump Shop Manager. Nathaniel has more than 12 years of experience in the industry and brings knowledge from both the manufacturing and business sides of the pump and valve industry.

Nathaniel got his start as an assembler of pump and motor skids at O’Drill/MCM. He had the benefit of working alongside a knowledgeable supervisor whose ability to use logic and critical thinking to solve problems granted his department many special projects. After working under him for a year, Nathaniel was put in charge of his own department, Titan Pumps, where he learned about the business side of the industry.

After a working a few years at Titan Pumps, Nathaniel left to pursue more opportunities in the industry. It’s here that he began working for Enermech, a maintenance company in the oil and gas industry, where he performed inspections, preventative maintenance, and major overhauls on offshore equipment in the field. This new job gave Nathaniel experience with the use of centrifugal pumps, as well as hydraulic piston pumps and gear pumps.

From there, Nathaniel moved to Flodraulic Group where he became deeply involved in the customer service and vendor process, writing quotes, getting PO’s and dealing closely with customers to ensure their needs were met. All of these different responsibilities have given Nathaniel the experience to help our Pump Shop grow into something very special. He said that he feels like I have a lot to bring to help Law Valve and ERL accomplish the goals of the pump shop becoming something wonderful.
