Our Youth Group
is cooking this Sunday…
but the whole family is invited.
Bust out your aprons and spatulas, this Sunday’s Youth Group is a special one-time Cooking Class with registered dietician Kristen Maurelli. We’ll be preparing an entirely plant-based menu―a breakfast drink, a brunch dish and dinner.
All 6 to 12th graders― and your families― are invited. You can choose to Cook Along using the ingredients and recipes from this list. Or you can simply Watch Along and let Kristen show you how it’s done. Youth Group is from 9 to 9:45. Here’s where you can find the zoom link. And learn more about Kristen.

Our virtual Mardi Gras this past week was unlike any other one we’ve held. But it shared one important quality with every other Mardi Gras at St. James’s--it was a success. We had enthusiastic participation in the parties and the Live auction was non-stop action (kudos to Hynson Marvel for his auctioneering skill).
We don’t have a final tally yet, but we do know that every dollar raised will be cherished and used to further our Missions and Outreach Ministries. If you haven’t donated yet, you can still do so at the Mardi Gras website.

The Power of Resilience
St. James’s recently created a video for CEEP―the largest network of Episcopal organizations. The video looked back at everything we accomplished in 2020. Narrated by the Rev. Dr. John McCard and edited by Annika Cline with help from Weezie Beckley, the video proves that we were indeed doers in 2020 despite the challenges we faced.

We’re excited to announce that the popular Sacred Ground series will return after Easter for a second wave. Focused on race and grounded in faith, this ten-part film and readings-based series walks you through America’s history of race and racism.

Wednesday at St. James’s
You may have noticed that we’ve started sending out emails on Sunday mornings with everything you need to know about the Sunday services and education programs. Well, starting this week, we’ll also be sending out “Wednesday at St. James’s.” It will give you all the facts about our Wednesday programming, including Zoom links.

We’re closing in on our stewardship goal.
Thanks to everyone who has pledged to give to St. James’s in 2021--and to everyone who will be giving in the weeks ahead. We’re just over $60,000 from our goal of $1.98 million. That we’re so close to our goal is a testament to the dedication, generosity and faith of our very special congregation.
